Gary David Ridley Sr

Gary David Ridley, Sr., 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 14, 2021. He was born to Dale and Leona (Smith) Ridley on July 3, 1953 in Haskell, Oklahoma. Gary proudly served in the United States National Guard and received an honorable discharge. He married the love of his life, Vera L. Butler on October 27, 1973 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared 48 years of life, marriage, family and many memories together. Shortly after their marriage, Gary answered the call to preach and became an Ordained Minister on September 5, 1975. They pastored several churches over the years in the New Life Association where he was very active. You could count on seeing him at the Association meetings, Youth Rallies, Youth Camp and auctions. He was Youth Camp Director from 1992-1997 and received an appreciation plaque for 50 years of service this summer. He loved His Lord and Savior and being with his Brothers and Sisters in Christ. He had a strong bond with his Minister Brothers. Gary was a materials clerk at ACME Engineering until his retirement in 2001. He loved the rodeo, riding horses, hunting and fishing in his younger years. He took his family camping and on vacations for several years. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Gary will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Leona Ridley. Gary is survived by his loving wife, Vera of the home; his daughter, Sarah Walters and husband Marshall; his son, Gary David Ridley, Jr,. and wife Cheryl; his grandchildren, Ryan and Kelli Warren, Logan Ridley, Mason and Megan Walters; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon, JT and Conrad; his siblings, Linda Criner, Pat Fisher, Charles Ridley, Melvin Ridley, and Dean Ridley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; daughters of the heart, Tracy, Lana, and Amanda; grandchildren of the heart, Melanie, Emmalyn and Avary. A celebration of Gary’s life will be 1PM, Friday, November 19, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith and Rev. Lynn Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Sans Bois Cemetery in Kinta, OK with Gary David Ridley, Jr., Ryan Warren, Logan Ridley, Mason Walters, Marshall Walters and Spencer Cypert serving as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ramon Cabrera.
