Alijah James Rogers

Alijah James Rogers was 21 years old, born on 3/16/2002. Alijah attended Wagoner High School where he played football, wrestling, and basketball. After high school, Alijah went to work for the Wagoner Community Hospital. He worked in the Mental Health Unit as a tech to gain experience in the medical field with hopes of one day becoming a nurse. Alijah enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother, Andrew and his Papa, Basil. Alijah also cherished and loved his one-on-one talks with his momma. She always had a way of making things better for him and wiping away his tears. Alijah loved watching OU Football with his dad, Kenny, on Saturdays and talking about whether OU’s football team was going to be trash or not that season. He enjoyed having sleep overs at Memaw and Paw’s with his baby girl, Bryleigh. Alijah loved going to the gym and competing with his brother, Andrew to see who could get bigger and stronger. Alijah had a special, once-in-a-lifetime relationship with his brother Andrew. This was not a normal brother relationship, but more of a Father-Son relationship. Alijah loved his brother and looked up to him for advice and guidance. Another person Alijah adored was his sister-in-law, Taylor. “Tay Tay” always talked to him when he was feeling down, and always put a smile on his face. He loved spending time watching videos on his phone with his nephew and niece, Kayde & Kayzlee. Alijah also loved his sister Ashley, brother-in-law Kaleb, and their 5 children, Kendyn, Kenley, Kendyl, Kenstyn, & Kendrey. He loved being their uncle. He, most of all loved, his sister’s cooking and pestering his favorite brother-in-law, Kaleb. You could always find him raiding the fridge at their house and asking what’s for dinner. When he was younger his Nana used to sing to him, “I Have Decided To Follow Jesus.” When he was older and heard it on the radio, he wondered where he heard it! He also enjoyed going on trips to Texas to visit his grandparents, Brian and Carolyn Mallett (Nana). While in the backseat with his brother and sister Kierra and Jayden watching movies and trading snacks, they played a game where if they saw a car they liked they said the model and color, quickly followed by “No Jacks!”. That meant they had claimed the car as their own. Alijah later independently purchased his first car, a Grey Mustang “No Jacks!” that he was very proud of. Alijah absolutely adored his girlfriend, Bree. He told his brother and mom numerous times about how excited and happy he was to start this new chapter in his life with her, and expressed how much he loved her. They recently took a trip to Las Vegas to see DJ Pauly D perform live. Most of all, Alijah loved spending time with his baby girl, Bryleigh Mae. Bryleigh was the light of his life, and he loved her more than anything in this world. All Alijah talked about was wanting to give his daughter, Bryleigh Mae everything in this world. Alijah was the type of person that if you called him and needed help, he was there. No excuses. He just said when and where, no matter what you asked him to do. Alijah impacted so many lives and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. A message from the family to him: Alijah, your family and friends love you, and we will see you again one day. The family will greet friends from 5-7PM, Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A celebration of Alijah’s life will be at 2PM, Friday, September 8, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jared Callahan officiating. Interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson. Pallbearers will be Andrew Rogers, Michael Zalmanzig, Kaleb Phillips, Richard Sourjohn, Blake Sourjohn, and James Basil Rogers Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Sourjohn, RJ Boulware, Russell Boulware, Kenny Milton, Kyree Boulware, Kyren Boulware, and Cameron Boulware.
