Alta Lucille Davis

Alta Lucille Davis, 85, a lifetime resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. She was born October 29, 1939 to Theodore Alfred Rae Hutson and Robbie Lucille Hutson. She attended Oktaha Public School from where she graduated. Alta met Bearl, the love of her life, at Durnell’s Department Store. They started dating and were married only 3 months later on February 6, 1959 at Boston Avenue Baptist Church. They celebrated more than 58 years of life and marriage before Bearl passed away. She worked as Mr. Durnell’s secretary for a while before she became a mother and homemaker. Later she worked as a seamstress for Dillard’s Department Store. Alta was a faithful and active member of Keefeton Trinity Southern Baptist Church for 59 years. She helped in the nursery, helped with VBS and was involved in various activities with the ladies’ group in the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Robbie Hutson; her inlaws, Bearl and Lucille Davis; her best friend and love of her life, Bearl Davis; her sister, Addie Reese; brother, JR Hutson; and brother-in-law, Allen Davis. Alta is survived by her children, Glen Davis and wife Jan, Kent Davis and wife Vivian; sisters, Judy Croftcheck and husband Tom, Wanda Stewart and husband Larry, Sandy Stout and husband Barry; brothers, Kenneth Hutson and wife Sue, Mac Hutson and wife Carolyn, and Tommy Hutson; sisters-in-law and good friends, Wynona Hutson and Sue Davis; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charolete and Walker Davis; grandchildren, Nathan Davis and wife Meagan, Joshua Davis and wife Andrea, Nicholas Davis and wife Beth, Jon Davis and wife Angel, Jeremy Jackson and wife Raygan, and Kimberly Watson and husband Rick; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Tyler, Dylan, Madison, Alexis, Sterling, Kameron, Emma, Makynlee, Reid, Tucker, Kade, Ayden, and Jase; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. A memorial service celebrating Alta’s life will be at 10AM, Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Keefeton Trinity Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Dean Haley officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Davis, Jon Davis, Joshua Davis, Nick Davis, Jeremy Jackson, Rick Watson, Tom Croftcheck, Joe Croftcheck, Steve Croftcheck, JD Shelton, Kyle Shelton, Scott Moore, Chad Hutson, Wes Stewart, and Grant Stewart.
