Anieta J. Denison

Anieta Denison was born February 25, 1941 in Wainwright, Oklahoma to James and Florence (Perry) Guthrie. She went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the age of 80. Anieta grew up in Wainwright, Oklahoma in a very large family which she dearly loved. She graduated from Warner High School in 1959. She married her one true love, Reasor Denison, in December of 1958. After starting their family, Anieta and Reasor moved to Burbank, California where she graduated from Dente’s Beauty College in 1970. She was a devoted wife and mother who was a loving homemaker for 62 years. Anieta was not only dedicated to her own children but also provided a nurturing home to many foster children through the years. She truly enjoyed gardening and was an OSU Master Horticulturist. She was always very proud of her garden and the many vegetables she would harvest and share with others each year. She also loved flowers and especially enjoyed her beautiful window boxes and her water garden. Anieta was known by all as an amazing cook. She loved sharing her homemade food with others and always volunteered to bake the pies which were a big hit at family gatherings. Her home, yard and garden were always beautiful and were admired and enjoyed by family and friends. Anieta is survived by her husband, Reasor Denison, three daughters, Natalie Burgess and husband Donald Burgess of Claremore, Tammy Adkins and husband David of Porum, and Malinda Lindsey and husband Terryl of Fort Gibson; and one son Rockford Denison and Heather Bolin of Scottsville, KY; fifteen grandchildren, Ashton Lindsey, Lauren Maxwell and husband Lance, Eric Adkins and wife Cindy, Kyle Adkins and wife Ada, Angel Denison, Cecilia Denison, Austin Denison, Aaron Bolin-Denison, Chelly Lewis, Dontae Burgess, Lakisha McNair and husband Bobbie; ten great-grandchildren Ellisyn, Whitley, Emily, Kaelyn, Sadie, Taylinn, Ellie, Andrew, Aiden, and Chanel. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill Guthrie and Helen Evans of Muskogee, OK and Winford Guthrie and wife Connie of Stillwater, OK, and longtime best friend Cecilia Hornback. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James, Donald, Harold, Bobby, Reginald, and Jack Guthrie, as well as two sisters, Eloise Flippin and Betty Dunlap. A graveside service celebrating Anieta’s life will be 10AM, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Coleman Cemetery in Porum, Oklahoma.
