Arthur A. Tillman

Arthur Andrew “Art” Tillman, 78, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on August 11, 2022. He was born on February 5, 1944 to Hubert Houston Tillman and Katherine May (Wallace) Tillman in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge. Art married the love of his life, Catherine Bernice Brown, on September 3, 1968 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared over 53 years of life, marriage and family together. Art worked at Boral Bricks as a brick maker for many years until his retirement in 2005. He loved his family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. Art will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Katherine Tillman; son, Mark Tillman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. J.D. Brown and Retha Brown; brother, Grover Tillman and his wife Roxy; and sister, Ruth Ann Reed and husband Willie. Art is survived by his loving wife, Catherine; son, Jay Tillman and partner Casey Lund; daughter, Mendy Whittiker and partner Jeremy Moler; very special daughter-in-law, Stephanie Tillman; grandchildren, Jacob Tillman, Savanna Noe, Ciara Noe, Marley Tillman, Zackary Tillman, Chase Tillman, Mason Whittiker and Marissa Whittiker; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kimber Tillman; brothers, George Tillman and wife Clara of Porum, OK, and Hubert Tillman, Jr. and wife Cindy of Muskogee, OK; sisters, Joann McBride and husband Sam of McAlester, OK, Bobby Branchcomb and husband Jacky of Okay, OK, and Ruby Rosson of Muskogee, OK; special friends Nancy Brown, Eddie Moler, Sherry Vanderpool and Carleen Noe; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. A celebration of Art’s life will be 2PM, Friday, August 26, 2022 at Oktaha Full Gospel Church with Pastor Ben Hale and Ronnie Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Oktaha Cemetery with Jacob Tillman, Dan Cotten, Chase Tillman, Mason Whittiker, Michael Crain and Matthew Whittiker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Whittiker, David Springer, David Roe, Trevor Gober, Justin Winter and Steven Acuff.
