Barbara Ann Adair

Barbara Ann Adair, 81, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed on Sunday, August 23, 2020. She was born on October 31, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Byron Wesley Scroggins and Juanita Maxine Scroggins- Bland. She attended Muskogee Public Schools and was a member of Muskogee Church of Christ. On June 7, 1957 she married Phillip Ray Adair in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They spent over 63 memorable years together. Barbara was employed at Cole Grain Feeds for 13 years, later becoming a Pharmacy Technician at a local Pharmacy. Barbara spent her last few years of employment at James Hodge Ford before retiring in 2004. A few of Barbara’s many talents was sewing and baking. She made Tammy’s cheerleading uniforms, and later her bridesmaid dresses. If a bake sale was happening, you could count on Barbara to make her no bake cookies which seemed to sell out before you could get them out of the sack and on the table. Although Barbara had lots of hobbies her most favorite was spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Gran is what all the grand kids and great grandkids called her but so did all their friends, she was a Gran to so many. She was a woman who loved fully, laughed generously, and gave compassionately. To know her is to know a woman who put herself second to those she loved. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Maxine Scroggins. She is survived by her husband, Phillip Adair; daughter, Tammy Mullen and husband Mark of Muskogee, Oklahoma; son, Steven Adair of Forsyth, Missouri; grandchildren, Trisha Barrett (Tony), Jeremy Mullen (Crystal) and Justin Mullen (Trenda) all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Derrick Adair, Tyler Adair (Desarae) both of Forsyth, Missouri, and Connor Adair (Kathy) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tatum Barrett, Maddox and Ryder Mullen, Madison, Tye, Trinity, and Waylon Mullen, Lileth, Sayler, and Harper Adair; brothers, Jimmy Scroggins (Jane) of Denison, Texas, and Johnny Scroggins (Sharon) of Arlington, Texas; sister, Sandy Gilliam (John Paul) of Muskogee, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews. The family wants to personally thank Good Shepherd Hospice for taking such good care of Barbara in her final days, their professionalism, love and support during a difficult time was second to none. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be 10:00am Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Chaplain Bill Crow officiating.
