Belva Dee Hoover

Belva Dee Hoover passed from this world surrounded by family at the age of 87 to see her Heavenly Father on August 6, 2026. Born in Muskogee, Belva was the third child of Jessie & Mae Moore. She attended school at Muskogee Central High School. Bobby and Belva married in 1957 and lived in Muskogee where they raised Danny, Shelly, Karla and Sharla. She followed Danny to many football games and the girls to many softball games. She needed a sticker that said “I live in my car and occasionally visit my house” because when the girls were young, she was always on the move, delivering kids somewhere. The actions of Mom were to be commended, an example of unconditional love. Her kids and husband were her life!! The mother of four children, ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her doors were always open where hugs, food and love were freely given. She was a friend to her sons-in-law and welcomed them into her family. Belva worked for Southwestern Bell switchboard for ten years. Then the opportunity for her and Bobby to open laundromats and car washes happened and it became a way of life. Before the world of automation, Belva could count & roll quarters fast and probably win a competition in speed, given a chance. Belva enjoyed bowling and was on a league with women that became lifelong friends. A member of the New Community Church, she prayed daily for us! Family gatherings were always at the Hoovers and Belva would cook days and half the night to ensure there was food for the large crowds that gathered for holidays, get togethers, and everyday life. How we will miss her cranberry salad. Her husband Bobby, daughters, Shelly (Brian), Karla (Carl) and Sharla (Craig), grandchildren, and great-grandchildren along with so many other friends and family members will cherish the time we had with her. The relationship between Belva and Irene, her sister, remained close for all of her years. They shopped, laughed, and shared life together. Belva was preceded in death by her son, Danny; brothers, Leonard, Eugene, Virgil; and parents, Jessie & Mae Moore. A celebration of Belva’s life will be at 11AM, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at New Community Church with Mr. Craig Conaway officiating.
