Betty Ruth Stubbs

Betty Ruth Stubbs gained her wings on November 22,2025 after a long battle of health problems. Betty “Nan” Stubbs was born on January 21, 1950 to Herbert Homer and Mary Ann Hendricks. Betty was the 4th of 9 children. She grew up in Woodall, a small community between ft Gibson and Tahlequah. Betty graduated Tahlequah city high school and worked at Walmart where she met the love of her life Robert Lynn Stubbs while he was attending NSU and later on they were married on 9-12-1969 in Muskogee where they Made their life together for 46 years. They had 3 children, 4 grandchildren and one soon to be. Betty and Robert were antique dealers and had a furniture refinishing business she often told people when asked what she did she would say she was a “stripper”. she also obtained her CNA license and worked as a nurse aid at Eastgate for nine years. Betty loved Christmas and spending time with family decorating her home with multiple Christmas trees and making favorite snacks for those she loved. Betty loved garage sales and working their booths at various antique shops and flea markets. Betty loved to take trips with her children and making memories. Betty’s memory will live on with her three children, Kimberley Chubick of Muskogee, Angelia Kelly of Muskogee and Robert Stubbs and his wife Becca of West fork, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jacob Chubick of Muskogee, Kirstyn Chubick of Muskogee, Buckey Kelly of Muskogee, Harper Kelly of Muskogee and soon to be Robert Oliver James Stubbs of West fork, Arkansas. She has two great-grandsons, Kyler Lee Chubick of Muskogee and Keenan Jasper Chubick of Wainwright. Betty is survived by two brothers, Rufus Hendricks and wife Anita of Tahlequah and Terry Hendricks of Tahlequah; two sisters, Sue Ritchie of Tahlequah and Margie Stinnet and husband Jay of Hulbert; sister-in-law, Sarah Stubbs of Tennessee; and brother-in-law, Bruce Stubbs and wife Lorie of Oklahoma; and loads of nieces and nephews. proceeding her in death is her husband, Robert Lynn Stubbs “Pops”, mother father, three sisters, Marilyn Ballard, Becky Potts and Shirley McClure one brother, Gunner Hendricks. Betty has longed to be back with Pops and would often talk about how much she missed him. Betty was a giver and would help out in any way if she had the means to do so. She was loved by many and will forever be missed. A celebration of Betty’s life will be 10AM, Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Echols officiating.
