Billie Carol (Puckett) Seward

Billie Carol Seward, 74, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma entered Heaven’s gates on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. She was born February 16, 1942 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Wilburn Lee Puckett and Nellie Ella Murdock Puckett. Billie attended public schools and graduated from Muskogee Central High School. She married her best friend, John Claybourn Seward on June 20, 1959 in Muskogee. They celebrated more than 57 years of life and marriage together. She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family meant everything to her. Billie and John attended Believers Christian Fellowship in Muskogee and Word Fellowship in Chouteau. She was a long time member of the Muskogee Farm Bureau Women’s Association. Billie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn “Bill” Puckett and Nellie Puckett; her grandson, Seth Seward. Billie is survived by her husband, John Claybourn of the home; sons, Johnny Seward and wife Susan of Ft Gibson, OK, Jeffrey Seward and wife Gail of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Cheryl Scott of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Lauren Seward and Jordan Johnson of Ft Gibson, OK, Brooke Seward of Tulsa, OK, Caleb Will Seward of Ft Gibson, OK, Mona Seward Allain and husband Michael of Denver, CO, Wyatt Seward and wife Necia of Broken Arrow, OK, Jordan Seward of Dallas, TX, Ray Seward of Tulsa, OK, Rachael Scott of Tulsa, OK; great grandchildren, Layton Seward, Clay Seward-Page, Ella Webster-Baker, Brody Johnson, Benjamin Johnson, Riya Seward, and Koen Seward; sisters, Janelle Sirois and husband Evans of Siloam Springs, AR and Peggy Simon and husband Daniel of Broken Arrow, OK; Pam Cantwell and husband Glenn of Claremore, OK; brother, Jimmy Puckett of Wagoner, OK; sister-in-law, Janet Whitehead and husband Mike of Tulsa, OK; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Billie’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 29, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Derr officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Caleb Will Seward, Justin Brown, Jordan Seward, Wes Cantwell, Wyatt Seward, and Evans Sirois serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Cantwell, Mike Whitehead, Tom Jacobs, Dan Simon, Jordan Johnson, Jim Puckett, and Matt Simon.
