Cara M Capps

Cara M. (Meeks) Capps, 59, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was born March 11, 1963 in Del Rio, Texas to Elvis And Rexanna Pool. She attended public school and graduated from Mesquite High School in Texas with the class of 1982. She began her career with Hangar as an office administrator and became a part of the work family. She gave birth to her daughter, Chelsie, in the summer of 1992 and a son, Justin, in the winter of 1995. Cara married Herman in October of 1991 and spent a strong 31 years together. In her free time she loved spending time with her grandbabies. They enjoyed gardening and coloring together many afternoons after school. She was always there and nothing but a phone call away. Cara was loved by many and loved just as many in return. She enjoyed playing on her tablet as well. She always had a love for animals and brought many strays home with help from her daughter. Her dog, Peanut, was her favorite and probably the most spoiled of all the critters they loved over the years. A very fond memory of the family is Cara and Chelsie herding a pig home for almost two miles because they couldn’t catch him but didn’t want to leave him. His name was Porkchop and lived a happy pig life after he made it to his new home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvis and Rexanna Pool; son Justin Capps; mother-in-law, Francis Capps; and sister, Michelle May. Cara is survived by her husband, Herman Capps Jr; daughter, Chelsie Capps; grandchildren, Abel Catalusci, Madilynn Moran and Kamden Capps; father-in-law, Herman Capps Sr; brother-in-law, Brad May; sisters-in-law, Gail Capps, Bonnie Tedford and husband Dennis; nieces, Brittany Elam and Lauren May; nephews, James Capps and wife Candance, Joe Pamplin and Ethan May; aunt, Joy Pierce; and many more great nephews, great nieces, along with other family members and friends. A family conducted memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation services provided by Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N York St, Muskogee, OK.
