Charles Wilburn Cook

Charles “Charlie” W. Cook, entered Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the age of 74. He was born August 9, 1940 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to J. T. Cook and Eva Pauline Hall Cook. Charlie attended public schools and graduated from Duncan High School in 1958. He furthered his education at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. From there he attended Central State University in Edmond where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. Charlie proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserve Unit as a First Lieutenant and then as Captain. He later received an Honorable Discharge. Charlie met and later married his best friend, Glenna Beth Daniel on August 28, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They shared 50 years of marriage together. They were longtime members of Muskogee Church of Christ where they faithfully served. Charlie was an electrical contractor by trade and was the owner of Cook Electric. He enjoyed flying, fishing, and golfing in his younger years, but his greatest love was spending time with his family. Charlie will be remembered as a kind and gentle man and will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mona Mae Pollock. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Glenna of the home; his daughters, Holly Johnson and husband, Greg of Muskogee, Amy Arnold and husband, Chris of Fayetteville, AR; his sister, Lynn Perkins and husband, Max of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Meagan Tyler and husband, Brandon of Tulsa, Ashley Womack and husband, Eric of Little Rock, AR, Christopher Arnold and wife, Cierra of Fayetteville, AR, Hunter Johnson of Tulsa, OK, Bret Arnold of Edmond, OK, and Blake Arnold of Fayetteville, AR; along with many other family members and friends. Charlie’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at Muskogee Church of Christ with Mr. Ron Lashley officiating. There will be a private family interment with Brandon Tyler, Christopher Arnold, Eric Womack, Bret Arnold, Hunter Johnson, and Blake Arnold serving as pallbearers.
