D J Richard "Red" Weatherford

DJ Richard “Red” Weatherford, 95, of Muskogee, OK passed from this life to eternal life August 15, 2022. He was born February 13, 1927, in Clayton, OK to Charley “Chock” and Della (Riggs) Weatherford. Richard married Pauline Hiseley July 20, 1946; they were blessed to celebrate 75 years of marriage in 2021. Richard and Pauline devoted their lives to God and spreading His gospel. They first began as evangelists. In 1973 he and Pauline began pastoring Emmanual Pentecostal Church in Braggs, OK. They pastored there until 1987. They continued to live in Braggs raising cattle until 2014. Even though they no longer pastored, Richard continued ministering at many churches around the Muskogee area. Richard loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. He could play many instruments, but the guitar was his first love and then the piano. Richard and Pauline never passed up an opportunity to use their voices for the Lord. Richard had worked many different jobs throughout his lifetime including building metal buildings which he was well known for. Richard loved his family and always enjoyed getting together and visiting. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his cherished wife, Pauline; 4 siblings, Addie and Yvonne, his sisters; Bob and James, his brothers; and a special son-in-law, Andy Moore. Leaving behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Dessa and Dr. Gloyd Miller; son, Rick and Theresa Weatherford; daughter, Gaye and Dave Roadruck; daughter, Paula and Jeff Hamlin; grandchildren, Dessa’s daughter, Beth and Chad Farmer, Gaye’s daughter, Cami and Wesley Seabolt, Rick’s son, Rickey and Misty Weatherford, Paula’s children, Matthew and Mary Jane Hamlin, Seth and Kasie Hamlin, and Levi Hamlin; great- grandchildren, Dessa’s grandchildren, Shayne and Jordyn Farmer, Rick’s grandchildren, Rebeca Gardner and her 4 children, Caleb Stewart and his 2 children, Gaye's grandchildren, Wren and Cade Seabolt, Paula’s grandchildren, Julia and Hank Hamlin, Dakota and Saige Hamlin; his brother, Frank Weatherford; two sisters, Betty Clay and Charlene Battles-Henderson; along with many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends. Also, a special caregiver Jeanette Cook. The family will greet friends from 5:30-7:30PM, Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating Richard’s life will be 2PM, Friday, August 19, 2022 at Grandview Tabernacle with Rev. Don Hayes and Rev. Terry Tatum officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Bill Cude, Chad Farmer, Wesley Seabolt, Rickey Weatherford, Matthew Hamlin, Seth Hamlin, Levi Hamlin and Cade Seabolt serving as pallbearers.
