Dana L. Hannon

Dana Lee Hannon, 74, a longtime resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024. She was born August 3, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert Gerald and Georgia (Bryant) McDaniel. She attended public schools and graduated from Muskogee Central High School. She furthered her education at Northeastern State University receiving her bachelor's degree. Dana married the love of her life, Gene Lester Hannon on December 23, 1971. They shared more than 35 years of life, marriage, and memories together. Gene preceded her in death on November 29, 2007. She worked as an operator for Coburn Optical Lens Plant for several years, and then worked as a clerk for the Family Health Center and Three Rivers Surgery Center. She retired in 2008. Dana enjoyed fishing, dominoes, pickle ball, tennis, golf, and watching John Wayne movies and Gunsmoke. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved watching them play sports. She also enjoyed her lunches and game nights with special friends, Sam, Janet, Sue, and Linda. She will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Georgia McDaniel; her loving husband, Gene; nephews, Stephen Salmon and John Hannon; and brother-in-law, Jack Hannon and wife Frances. Dana is survived by her sons, Robert Hannon and wife Shawna, Daniel Hannon and wife Rachel; her sister, Robyn Salmon and husband Ronnie; her grandchildren, Jace Hannon, Jaxon Hannon, Madelynn Hannon, and Makenzie Hannon; bonus grandchildren, Tyler Glass and Rachael Glass; nephews, Tim Salmon and wife Michelle, and Randy Hannon and wife Elaine; niece, Amy Mann and husband Steve; along with other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Monday, August 19, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A celebration of Dana’s life will be at 10AM, Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Frank Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with John David Jamison, Jace Hannon, Brian Fletcher, Jaxon Hannon, David Eckerson, and Matt Ellis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hannon and Tim Salmon.
