Danny Ray Capps

Danny Ray Capps of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered into glory on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the age of 76 years old. He left this earth in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 26, 1948, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Ray and Cora Lee Capps. He graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class of 1967. He attended Connors State College where he received his associate degree in education. Danny married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Beaty on October 14, 1967 at Keefeton Assembly of God by his uncle, Rev. Charles Capps. They shared 43 years of marriage until her passing in January of 2010. He entered the United States Army on December 13, 1967, and although he was never deployed to Vietnam, he proudly served his country and was honorably discharged on July 24, 1969. He returned home to his wife, where they began their family by going on to have two daughters, Brenda and Christy. Danny most enjoyed reading, watching sports, and old western movies. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, and a good game of dominoes or cards with family and friends. He will always be remembered in our hearts as a wonderful husband, father, papa, great papa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was preceded in death by his love, Carolyn; his parents, Ray and Cora Lee Capps; his sister-in-law, Kathy Capps; his nephew, Mark Capps; and his mother-in-law, Jean Beaty. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Brenda Coy, Christy White with her husband Donnie; grandkids, Matthew Herriman with fiancé Wylee, Rebecca Herriman, Trenton White with wife Trinity, Bryan White with wife Destiny, and Scott White with wife Leilany; great-grandkids, Haisley White, Ashlynn White, Sophia White, Joseph White, and Finnley White; brothers, Buddy Capps and Mike Capps; sisters, Phyllis Alvarez with husband Tony, Cathy Cope with husband Joe; brother-in-law, David Beaty with wife Jennifer; sister-in-law, Barbara Kinsey with husband Randy; along with many nieces and nephews that will miss their “Uncle Dan.” Danny’s life will be celebrated at 1PM, Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bobby Wingo officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors being presented. Pallbearers will be Trent White, Matthew Herriman, Bryan White, Scott White, Michael Edward Capps, and Donnie White.
