LTC David "Dave" Paul Beshlin

David Paul Beshlin, 65, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2025. Born on March 2, 1960, in Huntington, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Paul R. Beshlin and Helen Ruth (Smart) Beshlin. David graduated from high school in 1978 and pursued higher education with unwavering dedication. He attended Westminster Christian School from 1974 to 1978 before furthering his education at The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, where he studied from 1978 to 1982. His academic journey culminated in a master's degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech. On July 24, 1993, David married Tammy Michell Robertson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Ashley in 1996 while on assignment in Saudi Arabia. Together, they shared more than 31 years of love and companionship. David served his country with distinction as a member of the US Army from 1982 to 2002. During his 20 years of service, he earned numerous accolades, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Air Assault Badge, and Logistics Officer. After his military service, David’s career led to his employment as a civil engineer with Raytheon/Lockheed Martin. He was also a proud member of the Summerall Guard and a lifetime member of MOAA. In addition to his military service, David was a dedicated member of the Village Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon and taught Sunday school. David was preceded in death by his father, Paul R. Beshlin; mother, Helen Smart Beshlin; grandfathers, William Smart and Rudolph Boeschlin; and grandmothers, Ruth Smith Smart and Margaret Kemper Boeschlin. He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Beshlin of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Ashley Beshlin of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Donna Nitz (David) of Sebring, FL, and Nancy Diemer (Jack) of Germanton, NC; ten nieces and nephews. A celebration of David’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Brushy Mountain Baptist Church, Mitchell Little officiating. Interment will follow at Agnew Cemetery with military honors being presented. The pallbearers will be Andrew Nitz, Dayne Diemer, Joe Savas, Daniel Diemer, Eric Vollmecke, Matthew Nitz, Eric Nitz, and Jeffrey Scott Becko. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick McDowell, Henry Ayala, Carl Conley, Mel Little, Christopher Diemer, and Jon Inman. David Paul Beshlin's legacy of service, dedication, and love will forever be remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. The family requests memorial can be made in David’s honor to the hospice house of your choice or your favorite charity.
