David A Lester

David Arthur Lester, 64, entered Heaven’s gates early Monday morning, April 30, 2018. He was born June 14, 1953 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Arthur and Evalene Ruth (Haddock) Lester. He grew up and attended the public schools in Arkansas and Oklahoma, graduating from Oktaha High School with the Class of 1971. At an early age, David enjoyed building things and using his hands. He turned this talent into a lifelong profession in construction. He worked in many areas of construction including framing and being a trim carpenter. He was very proud to be in business with his son, David, at Creative Design by DALCO LLC. The two of them have enjoyed working side by side. On March 27, 1981, David married his best friend and love of his life, Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Grogan in Tahlequah. Together they have shared more than 37 years of marriage and life together. They have been attending Genesis Church in Muskogee and are former members of Lifepoint Church of Muskogee. David’s hobbies include building anything and spending time with his family. His family recalls that his most favorite person is his grand-daughter, Kinlee. His family loves him very much and will miss him greatly. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Haddock, Grandpa and Grandma Lester; his mother-in-law, Geneva Grogan; and brother-in-law Gary Hardage. David is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; children, David Allen Lester and wife Brandy, Jennifer Ann Lester all of Muskogee; granddaughter, Kinlee Lester; his parents, Arthur and Evalene Lester of Muskogee; sister, Elaine Hardage of Bismarck, AR; lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and many friends. David’s family will receive friends, Friday, May 4, 2018, at Cornerstone Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. A celebration of life will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Lifepoint Church in Muskogee, with Pastor Guy Parrish officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be David Allen Lester, Michael Deffebaugh, Toby Carpenter, Michael Chase Graham, Max Graham, Ryan Brock, Brandon Harris and Hipolita “Polo” Huerta. Interment will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at Tahlequah. Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
