Debra L. Moore

Debra “Debbie” Leone Moore, 65, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born May 2, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to Francis J. Buttermore and Frances Hatten Buttermore. She was raised and attended public schools in Farmington, Michigan. Debbie married the love of her life, David F Moore Jr, on September 10, 1966 at the First United Methodist Church in Columbus, MS. They shared more than 50 years of life and marriage together. Debbie had many passions in life, none more important than her love of Christ. She also coached her daughters and granddaughters in softball. She was extremely proud that her daughters passed the passion for playing on the diamond to their sons and relished in the fact that one daughter and one grandson have play at the collegiate level. She was an avid fan of OU Sooners football and softball. Debbie loved to travel, most recently to the Smoky Mountains. She enjoyed frequent trips to Branson with her husband and grandchildren as well as to Columbus, Mississippi where she began her lifelong family journey with David. Debbie had a passion of riding motorcycles, riding many days hundreds of miles with David riding his motorcycle alongside her. A hobby her children now enjoy. She enjoyed boating on Fort Gibson Lake where she and David taught the children to ski. Her crowning achievement was the day as Captain of the Boat she was able to pull up four skiers at one time including David and three of her children. Debbie smiled from ear to ear as she paraded her family from beach to beach showing them off. She insisted on this being a regular family event on all future outings. Debbie gave her life to raising her five children and caring for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an amazing cook preparing many recipes that were passed to her by David’s Mawmaw. Many times family meals exceeded 30 members. She opened her home to many youth in need, crisis, or just needing some TLC. They all lovingly called her “Nana” or “Mom” and there are too numerous to list that mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis Buttermore; her mother, Frances McGill; her inlaws, David F Moore Sr, Mary Eunice Moore, Rose J Moore, Gary Dean Adney and Lucille “Mawmaw” Rooker Moore. Debbie is survived by her husband, David, of the home; daughters, Debra Lynn Adney and fiance’ Greg Hurt, Cathy Jo Yarbrough and husband Donnie; Lisa Kay Cory and husband John, Sarah Nicole Bravo and husband Felipe; son, David F Moore III and wife Saundra; grandchildren, Josh Jackson and wife Emilie, Chelcie Moore and boyfriend Durgan Darnell, Chad Adney, Marissa Adney-Frye and husband Justin, Maranda Adney and fiancé Mathew McCrery, Whitney Moore, Dylan Moore and wife Ahniwake, Emma Moore, Chloe Moore, Jessicca Yarbrough and significant other Jeff Larsen, HN Dalton Yarbrough and wife Victoria, Colton Yarbrough and fiance’ Freddee Phillips, Cody Gritts, Kasey Gritts, Clinton Gritts, KoriBeth Gritts, Savannah Cory, Zane Cory, Gabriela Salgado, Elisia Bravo, Kaylee Bravo, Nayelli Bravo, Felipe Bravo Jr, and Rigoberto Bravo; great grandchildren, Sara Jackson, Landen Jackson, Bryor Jackson, Kyleigh Jackson, Jayden Jackson, David Smith, Briley Smith, Faith Miller, Coby Frye, Clayton Hammond, Achylles Moore, Brennon Moore, and Daxton Yarbrough; brothers, Emory Buttermore, Francis Buttermore, John McGill; sisters, Margo Mitchum, Tracy Lovan, and Kelly LeSalle; sisters-in-law, Mary Tucker and husband Tom, and Janice Moore; special friends, Darryll and Ginger Wilson, WJ and Kay Langford, and Charlotte Greenwood; along with other family members and friends. The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016. Funeral services honoring Debbie’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Perkins officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery with her grandsons, Joshua Jackson, Chad Adney, HN Dalton Yarbrough, Colton Yarbrough, Cody Gritts, Kasey Gritts, Clint Gritts, as well as friend, Austin Davis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandson, Dylan Moore, and great grandsons, Achylles Moore, Bryor Jackson, Landen Jackson, Jayden Jackson, David Smith, Coby Frye, Zane Cory, Daxton Yarbrough, and Clayton Hammond.
