Derek Gene Hake

On May 18, 1966, Derek Gene Hake was born in Harper, Kansas. He was the son of Sarah L. (Sally) Trussell and husband Phil of Braggs, Ok and Gary Hake and wife Helen of Muskogee, Ok. Loved ones left behind to cherish his memories are his wife Gail of the home; his children, Michael Alan Hake and wife Ashley of Muskogee. OK, Kara Michelle Hake of Prescott, AZ, Alexander Scott Hake of Prescott, AZ, Gavin Chase Hake and girlfriend Jessica of Muskogee, OK; his stepsons, Aaron wife Tammy their children Laura of Tulsa, OK and Mason of Muskogee, OK; parents, Gary Hake and wife Helen of Muskogee, OK, stepdad, Phil Trussell of Braggs, OK; sister, Jami Starr Anderson and companion Joey Chaffin of Muskogee, OK; stepbrother, Kevin McCoy and wife Angela and their children; stepsister, Rhonda McCoy and her children all of Muskogee, OK; uncle, Leon Hightower and wife Rebecca of Weatherford, OK; nieces, Candise Marie Hake of Okmulgee, OK, and Maureen Hake of the Philippines; nephew, Lakota Starr Miller and fiancé Holly of Muskogee, OK; daughter-in-law, Chelsey Wilson and husband Gary of Wilburton, OK; great-niece, Artemis Sarah Anna Miller of Muskogee, OK; grandkids, Derek Scott Hake of Muskogee, OK, James Michael Hake of Wilburton, OK, Sarah Anna Hake of Wilburton, OK, Courtney Michelle Helms of Siloam Springs, AR, Garrett Helms of Siloam Springs, AR, Joshua Helms of Siloam Springs, AR, and Hunter James Wilson of Wilburton, OK; 4 special cousins; and other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. He grew up in the Muskogee and Braggs area where he lived all his life. He attended Tony Goetz Elementary, Houston Elementary, Alice Robertson Junior High, Muskogee High School, and Braggs High School. He became a mechanic and machinist at a young age. His hobbies were racing cars, working on race cars, playing guitar, spending time with his family, having bible studies a t his house on Sunday's when his health would allow him. Organizations he belonged to were NHRA, and SCCA. He worked for Marble City Lime Plant for 7-8 years, Home Insulation & Seamless Guttering for about 7- 8 years, Furmanite Machine Shop for 9 years, and Tulsa Machine and Fabrication with Roger Jorgeson for 3 years. Funeral services for Derek's life will be 1PM, Friday, November 12, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Grace Parson's & Reverend Wayne Powell officiating. Interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery with Michael Hake, Gavin Hake, Joey Chaffin, Aaron Wilyard, Ryan Gassaway, and Thomas Rouell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lakota Miller, Phil Trussell, Roger Jorgenson. Jim Lewis. Darrell Dickson, Kevin McCoy, Lance Hightower. Laird Hightower. Layne Hightower, Laren Hightower and Gary Parsons.
