Gebon Lee Barnoski

Gebon Lee Barnoski, age 58, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of artistry, love, and cherished memories. Born on May 9, 1967, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, he was the beloved son of Hayden Lee Barnoski and Shirley Ann (Lena) Barnoski. He embraced his Cherokee, Seminole and Creek heritage with pride, reflecting his deep cultural roots throughout his life. A dedicated student, Gebon graduated from high school and pursued higher education, preparing himself for a career that showcased his immense talent as a professional artist. His work was a testament to his creative spirit, bringing color and inspiration to those fortunate enough to experience it. Gebon married the love of his life, Moya Burcham, with whom he shared a deep and enduring bond. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and mutual support. Gebon preached at First Indian Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized into the family of God. His statement of faith and source of strength was the Lord and his daily declaration was, “I shall live and declare the works of the Lord”. He said he will miss us but that he was ready to celebrate with Jesus. Gebon Lee Barnoski will be remembered not only for his artistry but also for his generosity, humor, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the beauty he brought into the world through his creative works. He is survived by his loving wife, Moya, of the home; his mother, Shirley McBride; his daughter, Hope Durossette and her husband Chris; his son, SaBryan Teague and his children; and his cherished granddaughters, Natalie and Sophia. Gebon also leaves behind his brothers, Philip Barnoski, Ricky “Bum” Barnoski, Jon Barnoski, and Lance Barnoski, along with numerous other family members and friends who will forever honor his memory. He was preceded in death by his father, Hayden Barnoski, and his grandparents, Barney and LouAnn Barnoski, and Walter and Stella Mae Lena. Their love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable person he was. Funeral services to honor and celebrate Gebon’s life will be held at 2 PM on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Bobby Morgan will officiate the ceremony, ensuring a heartfelt tribute to a man whose life touched so many.
