Gene Luke Bebee Sr.

Gene Luke Bebee Sr., age 84, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025. He was born on December 14, 1940, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Anna Mae (Jones) Bebee. Gene attended public schools in Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the class of 1959. On June 18, 1965, he married the love of his life, Brenda Doris Henderson, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared many wonderful years together making memories. Gene dedicated 43 years of his professional life to Brockway Glass, retiring in 2003. Alongside his career, he served as an associate pastor at Grace Cathedral Muskogee under Dr. Denver Callahan from 1968-1988. In 1998, he began as Pastor at Warner First Assembly until 2000 and later as Pastor to the Senior Class at Muskogee First Assembly from 2000-2019. Gene will always be remembered for his love of people having never met a stranger. He would witness to anyone about his love for Jesus inviting them to come to church with him. He had a love for the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and deer hunter. He also loved all types of athletics and was a loyal OU Sooners fan, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Gene was a man of deep faith, unconditional love, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelly Chitwood Ashwood; son-in-law, Mark Chitwood, and siblings, Matthew Bebee, Paul Bebee, James Bebee, William Bebee, Rosie Bell McDaniel, Violet O’Connell, Alice McCool, and Louise Payne. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Brenda, of the home; son, Gene Bebee Jr. and wife Melody of Webb City, Missouri; special nephew, Lucky Bebee and wife Shelia along with Barron, Tyson, Bronson, and Tanner; grandchildren, Melissa Benham and husband Josh, Preston Bebee, Gabi Chitwood Browning and husband Grant, Landon Bebee, Halle Bebee, and Hayden Bebee; three great-grandchildren, Onyx, Ally, and Jet; siblings, Drucilla Frampton and husband Bill, and Joel Bebee and wife Geney; and son-in-law, Dan Ashwood of Tulsa; along with many loved nieces and nephews. Gene’s life will be celebrated at 11AM, Monday, June 9, 2025, at Muskogee First Assembly, with Dr. Steve Rose and Pastor Gene Bebee Jr. officiating.
