Glen Edward Lord

Glen Edward Lord, 72, of Muskogee passed away January 22, 2023. He was born in Hazel Green, Wisconsin on April 11, 1950 to Eugene and Christine Lord. His family later made their home in Oktaha where Glen graduated high school. Glen spent a short time in the Navy and worked for the Blytheville Canning Company in Muskogee for many years. While working at the cannery, he met the love of his life, Beverly Royse. They were married on May 7, 1979. He spent many days and nights helping care for his ‘pona’ when her health started to fail in 2018. Glen was a quiet man but could tell some wonderful stories about his time in the military, working at the cannery and of course, fishing. He loved to fish and could sit on the banks for hours waiting for that big bass. When he wasn’t fishing, he loved to watch a good old western or baseball game. Glen was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverly Lord; his brother, Michael Lord; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Dale Royse and Jimmy Burchett. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marilyn Thouvenel and husband Jim, their children, Beau and his daughters, Mylee and Brylee, and also Bobby and his son, Case all of Muskogee. Sister-in-law, Debbie Royse and family; Katy Thomson and husband Ryan, their sons, Tanner and his wife Jessica, and Griffin and Lilli of Muskogee, OK; Cheryl Jackson and husband Jared, their children, Dylan and his wife Jennifer, Carter and Jackson all of Tulsa, OK; Robbie Jackson and wife Bridgette, their children, Hunter, Lexi, Andrew, Maxx, and Sonny all of Muskogee, OK. Sister-in-law, Brenda Burchett and her daughters, Melissa Burlison and husband Joseph of Tulsa; and Mollie Withham and husband Michael of Muskogee. Great nephew and nieces, Micah and wife Lu, their children, Jacob, Cloey, Brycen, Connor, and Ollie; Megan Teague and husband Brett, their children, Darcy, Kirbi, Jaxon, and Briar; Jaycie Ray; Amanda Hyson and husband Shayne, their children, Ellie and Oliver; Emily McIntosh and husband Samuel; and Jordan Burlison. Sister-in-law, Linda Hartt and husband Bob of Sequin, WA; niece, Laura Walden-Cummins of Texas and her children, Megan, Josh, Brandon, Destinee, David, and Madissen; nephew, Eric Peterson and wife Donna of CA, and their children, Hannah, Ben, and Joe. Glen is also survived by his niece, Kristen Palmer of Missouri and sister-in-law, Pauline Lord. A service celebrating Glen’s life will be 10AM, Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home in Muskogee with Dr. Daniel Milligan officiating. The interment of his cremains will be at Greenhill Cemetery at a later date.
