Gloria M. Anderson

Gloria M. Anderson went to her Heavenly eternal home on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the age of 87. She was born July 19, 1927 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Charles Hoffman and Bessie Hathway Hoffman. Gloria grew up in Bartlesville where she attended school and graduated from Bartlesville High School with the class of 1944. She met and later married her best friend, Alfred “Andy” Clarence Anderson on September 8, 1945 in Independence, Kansas. They celebrated more than 69 years of life and marriage together. Gloria enjoyed working in retail sales at Sussmans, Brown Dunkin, and Dillards Department Stores, but she enjoyed nothing more than being a homemaker for her family. She loved taking family vacations, attending sporting events her husband officiated, and was blessed with the opportunity to watch her grandchildren. Gloria was a long time member of Southern Baptist Church, now known as Central Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also taught Bible studies at nursing homes. Gloria was loved by many and will be tremendously missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Hoffman; husband, Alfred “Andy” Anderson; daughters, Sandy Anderson, Diana Arnold, and Kyla Salmon; sisters, Betty Jo Shouse, Patsy Sisney, and Carol Wofford; brother, Jimmy Dale Tucker; daughter-in-law, Teresa Anderson; and great grandson, Neiko Rankin. Gloria is survived by her sisters, Naomi Powers and Loretta Evans, both of Muskogee; sons, Larry Anderson and wife Wanda of Checotah, Cliff Anderson of Tulsa; sons-in-law, Larry Arnold and Richard Salmon, both of Muskogee; grandchildren, Maresa Barrett of Tulsa, Darrin Arnold and wife Jennifer of Sand Springs, Ronnie Anderson and wife Sharron of Tahlequah, David Anderson and wife Julie of Ft. Gibson, Dustin Salmon and wife Nicci of Muskogee, Minda Pippin and husband Grady of Summit, Kimberly Esque and husband Mike of Moore, Whitney Rankin and husband Charley of Edmond, Katie Butcher and husband Michael of Tulsa; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services honoring Gloria’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Cindy Culver officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Austin Barrett, Dustin Salmon, Gabriel Salmon, Mike Esque, Michael Butcher, and Charley Rankin serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrin Arnold, Keifer Arnold, David Anderson, and Ronnie Anderson.
