Gregory "Greg" Wilburn Royse Sr.

Gregory Wilburn Royse Sr., 48, of Muskogee, OK, passed away on April 26, 2025, peacefully in his sleep. Greg was born May 20, 1976 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Ronnie Ray Royse and Lucille Marie Royse (Fortney). Greg completed twelfth grade in 1994, then went on to work in the construction industry with family. Greg married Charity Dawn Royse [Pruet] on July 10, 1998 at Oldham Memorial Baptist Church. Greg and Charity met almost 30 years ago and have been married for almost 27 years. When telling his family about Charity, Greg couldn’t remember her name and told them “the girl with the name that has something to do with the salvation army.” They grew their family quickly, welcoming Kayla Jane, Gregory Wilburn Jr. and Preston Colbe and have since been blessed with 8 of the most beautiful grandchildren on earth. Each of them had Grandpa completely wrapped around their fingers. Greg especially loved wrenching in the shop and standing around shooting the bull with his sons, dad, brothers, cousins and nephews but watching his sons and nephews from the starting line was what really got him fired up. You could always bet he would turn hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting into competitions and if you asked him he was always a sure-fire winner. He would never turn down a camping trip with the whole family and would be the first one to jump on cooking breakfast to feed them all. In the last few years he spent most of his days with the grandkids, taking trips to feed the deer, fishing in the pond, teaching them the proper way to eat cornbread and milk, and of course spoiling them rotten with juice boxes and popsicles. Remaining to cherish Greg’s memory are his spouse, Charity; children and spouses, Haley and Chaise, Kayla and Kaden, Gregory and Emily, and Preston and Britney; grandchildren, Karson, Kimber, Waylon, Paisley, Kai, Jolene, Selena, Selah, Wyatt and one to be determined; father, Ronnie; brothers/sister and spouses, Donald, Cindy and Randy, Kevin and Kim, Jason and Kim, and many extremely loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunt, and friends. Preceding Greg in death are his mother, Lucille and many others. Greg’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Oldham Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Glen Little officiating.
