Helen Faye Timothy

Helen Faye Timothy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, age 91 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life into eternal glory on Sunday morning, October 19, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Sentinel, Oklahoma, September 26, 1934, the fourth child of Orville Burton, and Alma Adeline Campbel Burton. Helen attended Oklahoma School for the Blind and was present at the school when a devastating tornado struck the school on April 12, 1945 when she was nine years old. On June 15, 1954, Helen married John Levi Timothy in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Their years together lovingly produced four children, the oldest lost due to miscarriage. When asked who she wanted to see first when she got to heaven, she stated that she wanted to see her baby first. Helen was a homemaker for many years. Later in life, she worked for Visual Services through the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation until she retired. She made many friends through the years and remembered them all fondly. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Burton and Alma Campbell Burton, both of Hobart, Oklahoma; one child lost before birth, one brother, N. J. Burton; sisters, Mary Anna Burton, June Burton Wood, Coreena Burton Townsend; brothers-in-law Woody Lee, Nathaniel “Spy” Beaver, Mason “Buddy” Scott, Alan “Sonny Boy” Dailey; sisters-in-law Bobby Lee, Charlene Freeman , Glanda Scott, Edna Brownfield, Glenda Washington; son-in-law Greg Shupert; nephews James Neal Burton, Dionne Brownfield and Mark Beaver; niece Pat Masters, Judith Dailey, and one grandchild, Angel Grace Shupert. She is survived by her husband of seventy-one years, a son, John Timothy II and wife Mary Beth of Muskogee, two daughters, Elaine Shupert of Blanchard, and Deneice Crow of Wagoner, Oklahoma; brother Donnie and wife Frances of Calhoun, Louisiana; grandchildren Bobby Shupert and wife Callie, Hoss Shupert, Joshua Shupert and wife Ashley, J, J. Shupert, Nicole Shupert, Aaron Shupert and wife Tabitha, and Seven Shupert, all of Blanchard, Oklahoma; Ryan Crow of Wagoner, Oklahoma, Brandon Crow and wife Aspen of Copperas Cove, Texas, Hailey Schneider and husband Sterling of Muskogee; great-grandchildren Easton Shupert, Madison Slocum and husband Thomas, Paisley Durrington; Meiko Shupert, Addison, Levi and Kensley Shupert, Jaden Bingham, Helen Shupert, Jordan Shupert, Silas Shupert, Aaron Van Shupert, Allyson Shupert, Max Shupert, Eliana Shupert and Lavinia Schneider; two great-great grandchildren, Oden and Juno Reeves; brothers-in-law Fred Brownfield and Walter Wood; sisters-in-law Ruth Burton. Surviving nieces and nephews include Casey McIntosh and wife Shirley, Vicky Beaver, Donna Crenshaw and husband Larry; Linda Beaver, Rocky Lee, Ginger Richards and husband Clellie; Shannon Dailey and wife Carolyn, Chris and Shyla Dailey; Keith and Tyrone Scott, Derrick Brownfield and Claudia Brownfield; Phyllis Lee and husband Clyde, Ronnie Burton, Leon Masters, Rick Masters and wife Vera, Tommie Townsend and wife Shirley; Tonie Townsend, Mark Townsend, Monty Townsend and wife Kim, along with a host of other beloved family members and friends. Helen will be remembered for her quick wit, her outgoing personality and her ability to function independently despite her blindness. She attended church wherever she lived as long as her health allowed, and she was a born-again Christian, raising her children to love her Savior, just as she did. The family will greet friends from 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, October 24, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral Home 1830 North York St. Muskogee, Ok 74403. A celebration of Helen’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Bro. Casey McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons Bobby Shupert, Hoss Shupert, Joshua Shupert, Aaron Shupert, Brandon Crow and Ryan Crow. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
