J C Hart

J C Hart, 86, of Gore, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. He was born May 8, 1938 in Gore, Oklahoma to Clyde Jewell and Talitha Jane (Risley) Hart. He attended public schools and spent his high school years at Braggs. He became a member of the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He later received an honorable discharge. J C met and later married Wanda June Montgomery on September 19, 1964 in Gum Springs, Oklahoma. They shared more than 59 years of life, marriage, and making memories together. He worked for Briggs Rainbow Buildings as a sheet metal worker and welder. He retired in 2012 after many years of service. He was a longtime member of Gum Springs Free Will Baptist Church and upon its closing he became a member of Porum Free Will Baptist Church. He was also a member of Braggs American Legion. J C loved listening to bluegrass music and reading, especially westerns. His favorite pastime was attending church and fellowship with his Christian family. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Hart ; mother, Talitha Thornton; siblings, Velma Edwards, Doug Hart, and Kathy Hart; and granddaughter, Madison Coats. J C is survived by his wife, Wanda of the home; his children, Clyde Hart and wife Tammie of Allen, OK, Janet Hart of Tulsa, Joanna Riley and husband Bobby of Muskogee, and Kathryn Hamby and husband Caleb of Red Oak, OK; his brother, Carroll “Rabbit” Hart and wife Lois of Vian; his sisters, Patsy Hougland and husband John of Park Hill, OK, Darlene Thomas and husband Dale of Gore, OK; grandchildren, Sammie, Debra DePesa, Kameron Riley, Andrew Coats, and Riley Coats; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends who will miss him dearly. J C’s life will be celebrated at 10AM, Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Gore First Baptist Church with Mr. Brian Wendlandt and Mr. Carl Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery with military honors being presented. Clyde Hart, Nick Thomas, Bobby Riley, Buck Clark, Kameron Riley, and Wes Thomas will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Carroll “Rabbit” Hart, Colin Clark, Archie Reeves, Dale Thomas, and John Hougland.
