James "Cliff" Casteel

Funeral services for Mr. James Clifford “Cliff” Casteel, 60 of Wagoner, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 10th, 2024, at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in Muskogee with David Howell officiating. Interment will be private and attended by family only. Cliff was born on December 25, 1963, to the late Mr. Ralph Casteel and Mrs. Mary Glendola Casteel Helm. He departed from this life on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, with family by his side. Cliff began his radio career in 1988. The past 20 years was spent with Okie Country 101.7 in Muskogee. Cliff was a three time “Personality of the Year” winner from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. In 2010, he was awarded the coveted “Okie from Muskogee Award” for his public service in the Muskogee area. Cliff had many passions including weather, storm chasing and photography. He would provide inclement weather coverage for local radio and television stations. His photography was selected for a debit card design with Arvest Bank in 2019. Preceding him in death were his parents; Brothers; Ralph Casteel Jr and Rick Horton. Cliff is survived by his significant other, Debbie Nicks of the home; children, Jamy Casteel and wife Monica of Lone Grove, OK, Maye Thomas of Tulsa, OK, Holly Casteel of Broken Arrow, OK, Jacob Casteel of Hulbert, OK, Caleb Casteel and significant other Emma Gilbert of Muskogee, OK, Grace Sherrick of Muskogee, OK, Chuck Bunch and wife Jackie of Wagoner, OK, and Dillon Pierce of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Emily Casteel, Olivia Casteel, Braden Casteel, Milani Spahn, and Marcella Jo Casteel; siblings, Nancy Keaton of Owensboro, KY, Terry Horton and wife Donna of Muldrow, OK, and Kimberly Jones of Broken Arrow, OK; nephews, Kyle Jones and wife Toni of Edmond, OK, Kipp Jones and wife Victoria of Tulsa, OK, Kelli Jones of Los Angeles, CA, and Kori Jones of Broken Arrow, OK; and other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers will be sons, Jamy Casteel, Jacob Casteel, and Caleb Casteel; grandson, Braden Casteel; and nephews, Kyle Jones and Kipp Jones. Honorary Pallbearers are sons Chuck Bunch and Dillon Pierce. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 PM, Sunday, June 9 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations towards final services are being accepted at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
