Jeanne L. Hoffman-Scott

Jeanne Lee Hoffman Scott was born on October 2nd, 1943 in Lafayette, Louisiana to parents Francis Lynn Hoffman and Doris Lee Pierce Hoffman. Jeanne passed away on October 30th, 2024 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years. Jeanne and her family moved around quite a bit in her younger years until they finally settled in Muskogee, Oklahoma in 1950. At a young age, Jeanne gave her heart to Jesus Christ and she followed the teachings of Christ her entire life. Jeanne graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1962 and she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma for 2 years. There, she met her future husband, our dad, Roger Scott and they married in February 1965. Jeanne had a gift of music. She loved to sing, especially in church. Many times, she would perform with her sister, Carol Foreman. The sisters made a beautiful sound together when they sang and blessed many people with their music. Jeanne had a bubbly personality and loved to shine everywhere she went. She loved to be around people and had many friends. She loved to laugh, creating an atmosphere of joy for others to follow. She was witty and charming and never met a stranger. She would befriend anyone that would stop and listen to her. She was very personal with others, listening to their back stories and counseling them with the Word of God and prayer. She was a type of evangelist, sharing Christ’s love everywhere that she went. She was gripped with compassion and love for the down-trodden and hurting people. She wanted to rescue and even try to “fix” everyone who was broken. She would give anything she had to the poor. She just wanted to love people and help others anyway that she could. Jeanne is survived by her 3 children: Son, Lance Scott and wife, Nancy; Daughter, Landria Edwards and husband, Jon; and Son, Danen Doneske. Jeanne has 7 grandchildren who call her Grandmommy, Chelsea Rene Pevehouse, Micah Brannon Edwards, Benjamin Lee Scott, Bethany Lynn Scott-Lozos and husband, Niko, Jeremiah Nathaniel Edwards and wife, Sarah, Josiah Lewis Scott, and Mariah Loren Edwards. She has 4 great grandchildren, Nora Grace Pevehouse (9), Jackson Dale Pevehouse (6), Sage Scott Edwards (6), Rhys Nathaniel Edwards (1). Jeanne is also survived by her first husband, Roger Scott; her sister, Carol Foreman; her brother, Lynn Hoffman; her sister-in-law, Sue Hoffman, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Doris Hoffman; her second husband, Robert Doneske; her brother, David Hoffman; and her sister-in-law, Carol Hoffman. We hope that our mother will always be remembered for the kind and generous soul that she truly was! Jeanne’s family, especially her children, would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Eastgate Village Retirement Center in Muskogee, Seasons Hospice in Muskogee, and Mays Home Health in Wagoner for taking special care of our mother, loving her and creating a safe and healthy environment for her, during her final days. A family conducted memorial service will be held on Tuesday November 12th at 10:00AM at Grace Episcopal Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
