Jessie Dale Justus

Jessie Dale Justus left this world unexpectedly on February 14, 2023. He was only 42 years old. The family and friends who loves him dearly are deeply saddened by his passing. Jessie was born March 14, 1980 to Thomas and Sherrye (Asher) Justus. He was welcomed into the family by his two older sisters, Cindy and Brandy. Jessie had many challenges in his youth which led his devoted family to often lift him up in prayer, asking for his safety, healing and for him to know how much he was loved. They believed he had many special gifts to give the world. He did heal and grow and became affectionately referred to by his mother as her giant leprechaun for his size and red hair. Jessie also had a sense of humor expected with that title. Jessie was never the one to “blow smoke”, you knew exactly where you stood with him. He told the truth even if it was painful to hear. Along with that brutal honesty he had a heart to service others. He was always willing to help no matter what it was. He could be compared to his favorite cookie double stuffed Oreo, with a crunchy exterior but with a soft inside. He was a loving father to his two children, Kendra and Donald and an overjoyed grandpa (Papa) to a sweet baby girl Alaynna. Alaynna was the tiny treasure to the leprechaun and he wanted to capture the moment by getting pictures of the two of them together. Jessie’s love for his family and friends can be summed up in his last days with them. He made sure to spend time with them all and make Valentines Day special for everybody this year. He even made baskets for all of the special women in his family and played basketball with his son before preparing a steak dinner for the family. Jessie found joy in his life with the family he had, the friends he surrounded himself with and spent much of his free time fishing. Jessie often found himself squeezing in time to go to the river just so he could go fishing. Jessie did have gifts to give the world. He wasn’t much of a hugger, but he would always let the people he cared about know how much they were loved. Jessie is survived by his mother, Sherrye Justus; his children, Kendra Justus and Donald Justus; his granddaughter, Alaynna Justus; his sisters, Cindy (Jake) Mariano, and Brandy Carter; nieces, Laynnye Warwick, Samantha (Nolan) Thomas, Jayccye (Mason) Mariano, and Abbigail Carter; nephews, John (Shalia) Moore, and Jacob (Kyleigh) Marino; cousins, Gretchen and Adam Shiew; aunt, Sandy (Carmen) Ferrino, Cindy Justus; uncle, Tracy (Becky) Asher; and many other friends and family. Jessie is preceded in death by his father Tom Justus; his grandparents, Floyd and Lottie Justus, Dale and Colleen Asher; his uncle, Andy Justus; his aunt, Deby Shiew; his niece, Tommi Mariano; his nephew, Austin Warwick; and his brother-in-law, Gary Carter. A celebration of Jessie’s life will be 2PM, Saturday, February 25, 2023 at New Life Church with Pastor Danny Harrison officiating.
