Jo Ann Baldwin

Jo Ann Baldwin, 87 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015. She was born February 3, 1928 to Elmer and Minnie (Parenti) Bennight in Pleasant Valley, Oklahoma. Jo Ann married Harold Gene Baldwin on January 30, 1976 in Miami, Oklahoma. Jo Ann and Harold enjoyed traveling and preferred driving and seeing the countryside. Some of their favorite places to visit were Branson, Missouri, California, Alaska, and Colorado. Jo Ann loved the First Baptist Church in Muskogee where she taught the grade school classes in Sunday School for many years. She also loved working with the same age group of children for Vacation Bible School during the summer. Jo Ann enjoyed making things out of ceramic and made wonderful figurines, baskets, and even lamps. She loved painting the ceramic pieces and would give them as gifts to her children and grandchildren. Jo Ann adored all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Harold Baldwin; son, Stephen Caywood, husband, James W. Caywood; mother, Minnie Kaufman, sister, Maureen Mims; and brother, Elmer Bennight. She is survived by her son, Mark Caywood and wife Suellen of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter-in-law, Donnette Caywood of Muskogee, OK; stepson, Gene Baldwin and wife Susan of Mannford, OK; stepdaughters, Gayle Baldwin of Muskogee, OK, and Sharon Hutching and husband Howard of Rocklin, CA; grandchildren, Carter and Stephanie Caywood of Eagle River, Alaska, Ashley Caywood of Kansas City, Missouri, Jacob and Kasey Baldwin of Chicago, Il, Hailey and Kelly Blake Thomas of Muskogee, OK, Corey Baldwin and fiancé Courtney Cypert of Tulsa, OK, Ethan and Jessica Caywood of Muskogee, OK, Allee and Scott Pearson of Muskogee, OK, and Tanar Caywood of Muskogee, OK; great grandchildren, Gabriel and Wesley Caywood of Alaska; and many other nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 111 South 7th Street, Muskogee, OK 74401. A celebration of Jo Ann’s life will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 7, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Shelton officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ethan Caywood, Jacob Baldwin, Corey Baldwin, Carter Caywood, Scott Pearson, Patrick Cale, and Kelly Blake Thomas.
