Joe N. Johnson

Joe N. Johnson, 84, met his Lord & Savior and received his perfect body on March 9, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Vian, OK to Opal and Jewel Johnson on November 6, 1938. Joe started school at Webbers Falls before going to McClain where he met the love of his life at 12. He and Neva went on to attend Warner High school and married in the Spring of 1959. Two years later, they welcomed their only child, Sherri. They spent a lot of their free time as a family with Neva's parents, Thelma & Harold Chesser and her siblings whom he loved dearly. Joe spent many years traveling for work as a broker, petroleum land man and appraiser. The relationships he built were rooted in genuine connection and thoughtful intention, which made his work so meaningful. He would comment that it brought him such joy, he never felt like he was going to work. Joe was never too proud to learn something new while at the same time enjoyed sharing his knowledge as a mentor to many. Above all else, he closely led and loved his family. He and Neva helped raise their three granddaughters and never missed an opportunity to be with their three great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Johnson. He is survived by his beloved bride of 63 years, Neva Johnson of the home; his daughter, Sherri and husband Jon Hiseley of Kansas, OK; three granddaughters, Nicole Doyle of Oklahoma City, OK, Lauren and husband Lance Bowden of Fort Gibson, OK, Ashton and husband Jefferson Moore of Honolulu, HI; great-grandchildren, Chance, Caiden, and Caroline Bowden of Fort Gibson, OK; and a special nephew, T.J. Johnson and wife Linda of Okay, OK. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30PM, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Joe’s life will be remembered at 2PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cardell Coppin officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Golden, Mike Heaton, Jerry Ingram, T.J. Johnson, Frank Jones, Gabe Mosteller, Phil Pilkington, Troy Poteete, Steve Stotts, Benny Wheeler and Tim Wheeler.
