Kenice Lynn Sanders

Kenice Lynn Sanders passed from this life on the morning of September 13, 2023 surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born on April 12, 1957 to Kenneth and Janice Keaton in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was the second of three daughters and was baptized at the First United Methodist Church. Kenice attended Muskogee Schools. She was a loyal employee at Bacone College for over 20 years. Kenice married the love of her life Jerry Wayne Sanders on April 1, 2006 and they enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2020. In the summers Kenice loved family camping trips at Green Leaf, Keaton family reunions, going to the lake and she spent many summer evenings at the softball fields in Muskogee watching her daughters play ball. She was very laid back and took things in her stride. She would often inform others when she was wearing her rose colored glasses. She also knew how to laugh and was a wonderful listener. Kenice would be best known for her kindness and generosity even when she didn’t have much to give. Requests from her grandchildren were almost always fulfilled by grandma unapologetically whether she had parents approval or not. Kenice loved her family and her children dearly, but her grandchildren were the most precious to her and she was so very proud of them all. She had a genuine and special relationship with each of them. She loved cats and was always known to have one or three. She was proceeded in death by her parents Kenneth and Janice Keaton, sister Marsha Keaton and husband Jerry Wayne Sanders. Kenice is survived by her children, Samantha Luscombe and husband Justin Luscombe of Magnolia Texas, Michael Dunn of Oklahoma City Oklahoma, Hollie McAdoo of Oklahoma City Oklahoma; her devoted sister, Stacey Keaton of Muskogee Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Debbie Hambrick and husband Tony Hambrick of Broken Arrow Oklahoma; grandchildren, Isabelle, Aiden, Peyton and Matilda Luscombe of Magnolia Texas and many beloved members of the infamous Keaton and Dunn families; and countless uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Kenice’s life will be held at 1:30PM, Friday September 22, 2023 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with LeRoy Thompson officiating.
