LaNell Boyer October 23, 1948 – August 21,2021 LaNell Boyer, 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 21,2021 at her home in Webbers Falls, OK. LaNell was born on October 23, 1948, in Muskogee, OK to Ford Wilson Blackwell and Ada (Carter) Blackwell. She grew up on Dorchester Street where she formed several enduring friendships. She attended school at Whittier Elementary School, Alice Robertson Junior High School, and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1966. LaNell married her high school sweetheart, David Boyer, on July 23, 1966, a marriage lasting 55 years. Several years after they were married she became a Registered Nurse. Over the following three plus decades LaNell worked in many different nursing positions including a hospital floor nurse, the ER, home health, hospice, occupational safety, among others. Perhaps her two favorite positions were being a school nurse, and being available to give nursing advice to friends and relatives as needed. LaNell was truly gifted in nursing, and David would often brag on how his doctors relied on her knowledge as they prescribed treatment for him. LaNell was the life of the party wherever she went. She loved cutting up with her many friends and family, but she especially enjoyed having fun with her grandchildren who referred to her as “Cool Grandma.” She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching and taking lots of pictures of all her favorite things and people. LaNell was always active in the churches she and David attended, serving in countless ways. She loved people and carried her faith with her into the workplace. She is remembered for her sweet spirit and kind smile. Her home was a place where people enjoyed gathering because of the warmth of her love. LaNell is survived by her son, Rudy Boyer and wife Christy of Whitehouse, TX; daughter, Katie Osburn and husband Craig of Webbers Falls, OK; 5 grandchildren, Gillan Boyer and wife Karen of Lewisville, TX, Gracie Boyer of Sulphur Springs, TX; Josh, Andrew, and Nathan Osburn of Webbers Falls, OK. She is also survived by brother Kenny Jackson and wife Kathy of Muskogee, OK; sisters-in-law, Nelda Fulton of Warner, OK; Sherron Hunnicut and husband Sid of Lavaca, AR; and Mona Price and husband David of Muskogee, OK; brothers-in-law, Dale Boyer and wife Patsy of Choctaw, OK; Jack Boyer and wife Marion of Reinbeck, IA; and Jody Boyer and wife Debbie of Boynton, OK; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. LaNell was preceded in death by her husband David Boyer, parents Ford Blackwell and Ada Blackwell; sister Carole Beach; in-laws Clyde Boyer and Audrey Boyer; brothers-in-law Bill Beach and Marlin Fulton. The family will receive friends from 5-7PM, Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. LaNell’s life will be celebrated at 2PM, Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at Southeast Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Milligan officiating. Interment will follow at Gum Spring Cemetery in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma.
