Lillian "Claudene" Thomson

Lillian “Claudene” Thomson, 91, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on April 9, 1932 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Claud Ennis “Pete” Mead and Florence (King) Mead. She graduated from Carnegie High School with the class of 1950 and then went on to beautician school in Oklahoma City in 1951. Claudene married the love of her life, John Raymond Thomson, on December 19, 1952 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. They shared 71 years of life, marriage, family and many memories together. She became a partner in a beauty shop in Kingfisher, Oklahoma from 1951 to 1953. Claudene was a faithful member of Muskogee First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. Claudene was an avid reader and enjoyed working in her garden and yard. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. Claudene will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Florence Mead; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Blanch Thomson; brothers, Ron Mead and Jackie Mead; sister, Colleen Vance; brothers-in-law, Loyd Vance and Bill Thomson; and nephew, Jay Mead. Claudene is survived by her husband, John Thomson of the home; children, Steve Thomson and wife Cristi of Muskogee, OK; David Thomson and wife Penny of Muskogee, OK; Janet Highers and husband Gary of Muskogee, OK; and Lori Dillard and husband Keith of Muskogee, OK; grandchildren, Matt Thomson and wife Dana of Ft. Worth, TX; Ryan Thomson and wife Katy of Muskogee, OK; Braden Thomson of Muskogee, OK; Jamie Singleton and husband Chad of Muskogee, OK; Katie Cawvey and husband Justin of Muskogee, OK; Brandy Galvin and husband Perry of Muskogee, OK; Logan Smith and wife Jacqueline of Tulsa, OK; Nick Dillard and wife Alicia of Guthrie, OK; and Jake Dillard and wife Llyndze of Navarre, FL; great-grandchildren, Lily and Mikayla Thomson of Ft. Worth, TX, Tanner Thomson and wife Jessica of Muskogee, OK, Griffin Thomson of Muskogee, OK, Lilli Thomson of Muskogee, OK, Izzy and Owen Thomson of Muskogee, OK, Haley and Caden Singleton of Muskogee, OK, Dylan and Gavin Mier of Muskogee, OK, Abby Galvin of Muskogee, OK, and Henley and Nolan Dillard of Guthrie, OK; sister-in-law, Bea Mead of Wichita, KS; nieces and nephews, Kathi Miller and husband Rogge of Oklahoma City, OK, Joe Thomson and wife Norma of Kingfisher, OK, Thomas Thomson and wife Becky of Oklahoma City, OK, Larry Vance and wife Jo Beth of Carnegie, OK, Carol Walker and husband David of Guthrie, OK, and Jan Mead of Wichita, KS; cousins, Mary Lavon Holmes, Donnie Kelly, Janelle Kelly all of Carnegie, OK and Karen Gross of Edmond, OK, and many extended family and friends. A celebration of Claudene’s life will be 2PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Muskogee First United Methodist Church with Chaplain Cindy Culver and Minster Andre Contino officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Matt Thomson, Logan Smith, Ryan Thomson, Nick Dillard, Braden Thomson and Jake Dillard serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Mier and Tanner Thomson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Muskogee.
