Lloyd E. Hayes

Lloyd Eugene Hayes, a lifelong resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 96. Lloyd was born on October 1, 1928, to Arthur Lee and Bessie Jean (Bobbitt) Hayes. On April 15, 1950, Lloyd married the love of his life, Pearlie Mae Sampson. This year, they joyfully celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Lloyd worked as a welder and iron worker before retiring in 1992. He found immense happiness in fishing with his sons and grandsons, watching Clint Eastwood and John Wayne movies, listening to gospel music, and spending quality time with his family. Lloyd cherished listening to his family singing and playing music, and he had a particular fondness for his harmonica and his beloved grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bessie Hayes, and his grandsons, Shane Munsell and Tyson Hayes. He is survived by his loving wife, Pearlie Mae; daughter, Barbara Scott and husband Lynn; son, Gary Hayes and wife Starlet; son, Randy Hayes and wife Teresa; daughter, Connie Munsell and husband Doug; son, Lloyd Hayes and wife Jeanine; and daughter, LeAnn Love. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jeremy Scott and wife Beth, Jason Scott and wife Cara, Misty McCurley, Kristy Sidebottom and husband Jeremy, Scott Hayes and wife Kelly; Travis Hayes, Kyle Munsell, Meagan Thayer and husband Jake, Jonathan Hayes and wife Katie, Daniel Hayes and wife Becky, and Noah Morgan and wife Sheena; as well as his great-grandchildren, Presley Scott, Paisley Scott, Peyton Scott, Kolton Scott, Ivy Scott, Marley Scott, Micah Scott, Kelsea Scott, Connor McCurley and wife Mel, Calton Sidebottom, Cooper Sidebottom, Aubrea Hayes, Bryson Hacker, Alexis Proctor, Tristen Proctor, Nova Proctor, Austin Sasser, Wesley Sasser, Connor Munsell, Keyton Love, Isabella Love, Eli Hayes, Caleb Hayes, Kennedy Hayes, Emercyn Baldridge, Boone Morgan, Bear Morgan, and Randa White, along with numerous other family members. Lloyd Eugene Hayes will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will live on through his family and the cherished memories they hold dear. Funeral services celebrating Lloyd’s life will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tim Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, with Kyle Munsell, Jason Scott, Jon Hayes, Jeremy Scott, Daniel Hayes, and Scott Hayes serving as pallbearers. Noah Morgan will serve as honorary pallbearer.
