Opal O. Zook

Opal Ophildia Zook, age 90, of Council Hill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025. She was born on January 25, 1935, in Alconda, Illinois, to Clyde Hazel Marshall and Rhoda Mary (Fowler) Marshall. On September 9, 1953, Opal united in marriage with Norman Lee Zook in Charleston, Missouri. They spent many cherished years together until Norman's passing. Opal was a devoted member of Abundant Life Church, where her faith and love for God were deeply rooted. She cherished her family above all and dedicated her life to nurturing and loving them. Opal was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Zook; her parents, Clyde and Rhoda Marshall; and her brothers, Jay Marshall and Oades Marshall. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Carolyn Paolo of Forest Grove, Oregon; Ronald Zook of Council Hill, Oklahoma; Nancy Gredvig and husband Dana of Cathlamet, Washington; Kenny Zook of Gaston, Oregon; Sharron Link and husband Kevin, and Norma Grigsby and husband Chris, both of Hillsboro, Oregon. Opal is also survived by her sisters: Alta Staton of Council Hill, Oklahoma; Letha Seveland and husband Frank of Checotah, Oklahoma; Rhenda Staton and husband Richard of Hulbert, Oklahoma; and Linda Londagin of Council Hill, Oklahoma; her brothers, David Marshall and Gary Marshall, both of Muskogee, Oklahoma, also survive her. Opal was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren: Jamie Smith, Josh Paolo, Stacey Rodriguez, Jenifer Zook, Timmy Cook, Jason Cook, Mathew Zook, Kyle Zook, Ryan Lynk, Jacob Lynk, Keanu, and Kaleb Wolf. She will also be remembered by numerous other family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Opal’s life will be celebrated at 2 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tommy Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Council Hill Cemetery with Kenny Kedrick, Kenny Zook, Mike Hedrick, and Ronald Zook serving as pallbearers. Opal Ophildia Zook will be fondly remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family, and the love and kindness she extended to all who knew her.
