Pamela Sue Roughface

Pamela Sue Roughface, a lifelong resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on April 27, 2026 surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion to her family and community. Pamela was born on January 12, 1959, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Woodrow Wilson and Lillian Marie Goombi Wilson. She grew up in Muskogee and remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life. She married, Nelson Roughface, on February 14, 1993 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. They cherished many years of life, family and marriage together. Pamela dedicated much of her life to caring for others through her work as an X-ray technician for 25 years at White Eagle Health Center, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and skill. She especially cherished serving the Ponca people and took great pride in her work. A woman of strong faith, Pamela was a devoted member of First Indian Baptist Church in Muskogee. She found joy in sewing, beading, and spending precious time with her family, who were the center of her world. Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Wilson and Lillian (Goombi) Wilson; her husband Nelson Roughface; and her brother, Rodney Wilson. She is survived by her son, Damon Smith of Muskogee, OK; daughters, Emily Smith of Ponca City, OK, Lillian Smith of Ponca City, OK; Nikagahi Tigahe McCosar; grandchildren, Luke Smith of Muskogee, OK, Tennyson Burris of Ponca City, OK, Te’Ska Burris of Ponca City, OK, Jaylynn Burrs of Ponca City, OK, George Cornell of Ponca City, OK, Sloen Cornell of Ponca City, OK, Jasmine Cornell of Ponca City, OK Allen Cornell of Ponca City, OK; brothers, Curtis Wilson of Muskogee, OK, Wilmon Wilson of Ada, OK; great-granddaughters, Gracelynn And Malli; and many other family members and friends. A service to celebrate her life will be Saturday, May 2, 2026 at First Indian Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Brandon Kemble officiating. She will be laid to rest at Nani Chito Cemetery in Smithville, Oklahoma. With George Freeman Cornell, Luke Alexander Smith, Tennyson Warlecy Burris, Curtis Wilson, Te’Ska Elijah Burris and Miles Blackbear serving a pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Warlecy Smith, Allen Thomas Cornell, Anthony Jason Burris, Lance West, Hawley Tsoodle and Branden Roughface.
