Parthena C. Bryant

Parthena (Parkie) C. Bryant, age 94, entered into Eternal Life with her Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven, peacefully at home on February 9th 2023. She was loved by many, especially her husband Elisha Bryant (deceased) who she shared 53 years with, daughters Sandra (David) Smith, Penny Smith, son Doug (Bonnie) Bryant, and her baby David (deceased) all of Muskogee, OK. Her 5 grandchildren, Scott Bryant, Clint Bryant, David Smith, Albert Smith and Penelope Kellogg; 11 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. Parthena was born October 10th 1928 in Vian, Oklahoma to Charlie and Mary Holt. In 1946 she married the love of her life, Elisha Bryant who she spent many years running a ranch with. All of her life, she worked hard, even mowing her own lawn into her 80s. She loved tending to her garden, fishing her ponds, and playing Rummy and Yatzee with her family. She taught her family that life can be simple; the fulfillment of a homemade hamburger, happiness of a piece of gum, and the calmness of admiring the view out of the window. She embodied humility, compassion, kindness, and love. She loved to spoil her grandkids, and great grandkids with all of the chocolate cake they could eat, and homemade cooking that the entire family looked forward to. She had a way of making her home feel so welcoming, and fun for the kids. She attended the Church of Christ most of her life, but in her latter years attended Assembly of God - Elm Grove with her daughter, Sandra Smith. She was a firm believer in God, and looked forward to reunification with her loved ones. Parthena was reunited with her parents Charlie and Mary Holt, her beloved husband, Elisha Bryant, her son David Bryant, 7 brothers, 4 sisters, 1 grandchild, Stacy Bryant, 2 great-great grandchild Carson Kellogg, and Tatum Bryant. Psalm 23:1-4 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. A celebration of Parthena’s life will be 2PM, Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Elm Grove Assembly of God with Pastor Cyrus Spears officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Michael Kellogg Jr, Scott Bryant, Albert Smith, Senjin Bryant, Logan Smith and David E. Smith serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Bryant, Waylon Smith and Michael Kellogg Sr. Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N York St Muskogee, OK 74403.
