Patty Gorman

Patty Gorman, who loved to be called “Mamaw” by her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, departed this life on February 17, 2022. She was surrounded by her husband, her two children and her brother. Patty was born in Muskogee, OK on July 29,1956 to Harold and Dorothy Shook who showed her extraordinary love and devotion. Patty was truly their gift from God and they treated her as such. She attended Muskogee Public Schools and was a graduate of Muskogee High School in 1974. Patty met Terry Gorman in 1975, they dated for 3 months and were married in September of 1975. The reward for their dedication and love was 46 years of marriage. Patty was mother to Aaron Gorman and Terra Geralds, a “Mamaw”, to Mallory, Jillian, Stetson, Kadence, Braxton, Trey, Cassie and Justin and a Great “Mamaw” to Chevy and Sophie. She showed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the same love and devotion she had been shown by her father and mother. We will all miss her prayers, goodnight texts, daily calls and her great big, tight hugs. As a realtor with Century 21 for 30 years, Patty was known by her clients and co-workers for her professionalism, her integrity, her sweet disposition, her quick wit and her smile. She took great pride in selling homes. She would always give her all to make sure you had an above and beyond experience. Patty was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, loved to shop, was one of George Strait’s biggest fans (she saw him 8 times), loved OU and Dallas Cowboys football and loved chocolate! She loved fiercely, was selfless, caring, compassionate, strong and sometimes hardheaded, never let anyone stop her, was a bit of a worrier (we never had to watch the weather, lol), and you never had to wonder what she thought or felt (she would share her opinion, in a heartbeat). We are comforted in knowing that mom loved Jesus, just as much as she loved us, and is with Him in heaven. She joined her father and mother, grandparents, great-grandparents and a host of other family and friends on Thursday when she went home. She is survived by her husband, Terry Gorman of Stigler, OK; her daughter and son-n-law, Gary and Terra Geralds and children Mallory, Jillian, Stetson, Trey, Cassie and Justin and grandchildren Chevy and Sophie of Stigler, OK; her son and daughter-n-law, Aaron and Dr. Kristi Gorman and children Kadence and Braxton of Bentonville, AR; her brother, Eddie Shook and Carmen of Muskogee, OK; her nephew, Evan Shook and his mother Becky Shook of Muskogee, OK; her niece, Jessica Baker and daughters Ella and Elivia of Muskogee, OK; and a host of very special uncles, aunts and cousins; her Century 21 family and friends. Public visitation will be 1-5PM, Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27 @ Cornerstone Funeral Home. Family will receive guests on Sunday, February 27, from 1-5. Funeral service will be at 9AM, Monday, February 28, 2022 @ Fort Gibson Church of Christ. Interment will follow at 11AM at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
