Pauline "Polly" Davis

Pauline “Polly” Davis, 84, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed in December of 2019. She was the only child born to L.C. Davis and Lillie B. Sanborn in June of 1935. She was raised by her grandmother until her death, then went to live with her uncle Thomas and his family. Wherever Thomas was, she wanted to be right by his side, he was like a big brother to her as they were only 2 years in age difference. Through her younger years, she helped raise her nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also a longtime member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents L.C. Davis and Lillie B. Sanborn; grandparent Indiana McBride; and step-grandparent Zachary Napoleon McBride. She is survived by her cousins, Gloria (McBride) Teague of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Dorothy (McBride) Samuels of Jenks, Oklahoma, Debra (McBride) Chapman of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Bonnie McBride of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Lydia McBride of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Arizona Falls of Yakima, Washington Alma Watkins and S.L. Berry of Torrance, California, Thomas McBride, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tonny McBride of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Clarence McBride of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Chris McBride of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Robert Newton, Chester Newton, and Floyd Newton all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Admonia “Cookie” Finnie of Saint Ann, Missouri; aunts Mrs. Betty McBride and family of Muskogee, Oklahoma and Mrs. Hurbert McBride of Riverside, California; the Brandon family of Dallas, Texas, the Lampkin family of Satin, Texas and Seattle, Washington.. A repast will be held at 4:00pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at Chavas Mexican Restaurant 710 S 32nd St, Muskogee, OK 74401. A celebration of Pauline’s life will be 2:00pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Ragsdale and Pastor Walter Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with Mark McBride, Tonny McBride, Ethan McBride, and Clarence McBride serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Newton, Chester Newton, Floyd Newton, Thomas McBride, and Alix Chapman. A repast will be held at 4:00pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at Chavas Mexican Restaurant 710 S 32nd St, Muskogee, OK 74401.
