Ralph Dewayne Bacher

Ralph Dewayne Bacher, 78 of Braggs, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born May 25, 1937 in Tecumseh, OK to Oliver Lewis and Leona Marie (Parker) Bacher. He grew up and attended the public schools in Tecumseh. Shortly after finishing his education, Ralph enlisted with the United States Air Force in 1955. On June 9, 1965, Ralph married the love of his life, Wanda Jean Gentry, in Abilene, Texas. They have shared over 50 years of marriage together. They travelled with their family during Ralph’s career with the U.S. Air Force. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1976, they moved home to Braggs and continued his career as a diesel mechanic and owned and operated RJ’s Corner. Ralph and Jeanne made many friends in Braggs and were very active in the American Legion. They ran the Senior Dinner for 4 years and reconnected with many old friends. Ralph’s family remembers that he was very giving and would always go out of his way to help family, friends, neighbors and even strangers; he wanted to help people. During his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time and taking all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren fishing. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Kristina Bacher; a half-brother, Hal Puckett, Jr. and his special aunt, Mary Edith Bacher. Ralph is survived by his wife, Wanda Jean Bacher of the home; his children, Debra Bruch and her husband Michael, Carolyn Byrum, Danny Bacher and his wife Gina, Charlotte Thompson and her husband Marc, and Teresa Stanfill and her husband Barry; his grandchildren, Pamela Engelkin and husband Anthony, James Hollifield, Mathew Slape, Melissa Huckaby, Brandy Lester and her husband David, Dovey Huckaby and her fiancé` Matt Henson, Danny Bacher, Travis Bacher, Ashley Sutfin and her husband Josh, Hunter Thompson, Chase Thompson, Brannon Stanfill and Brett Stanfill; 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Bernice Webb and her husband Charlie; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other members of the family. A celebration of Ralph’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, OK with FULL MILITARY HONORS with Pastor Jack Carner officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Haskell Isbell and Ronald Moore.
