Robbie Callison III

Robert Owen Callison, III was born January 12, 1977 to Robert Owen (Bob) Callison, Jr. & Debora (Debbie) Stepp Callison in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was lovingly welcomed by two older sisters and three older cousins who were like siblings. The only son of Bob and Debbie, and the youngest grandchild among all of his grandparents, he was destined to be spoiled. Being the third generation to carry the same Callison name - he affectionately came to be called Robbie. As a child, Robbie was a force to be reckoned with. He was equal parts sweet and cantankerous. As most wild boys do, he loved to play outside, torment his sisters, cousins (and whatever friend or family member happened to be around) as well as break every rule he could. Robbie loved water skiing, camping, fishing and riding his three-wheeler. He had a knack for assigning the best nicknames to anyone and anything he came across. He found humor in almost any phrase that was spoken around him. He loved rock ballads and old country music. His smile and laugh were extremely contagious. Although Robbie loved fun and adventure, he had a very hard working and responsible air about him. At age 14 he began his first of many jobs at Sequoyah Bay Marina. A short time later, he added Muskogee Skate Center and Sun Up Convenience Store to his list of jobs. Robbie balanced all of these jobs while attending school. He graduated from Muskogee High School with the class of 1996. Soon after, he began working with his dad at the newly opened Bob's Pawn Shop. Not one to have a shortage of jobs, Robbie began working at Georgia Pacific. He continued there for almost 20 years until he decided to make a career change and open his own Pawn Shop. After deciding that small business ownership wasn't for him, he pivoted careers once again and returned to being a machine operator. Robbie's other "job" during this time in his life was riding his motorcycle. Riding his Harley brought him freedom, clarity and peace. It was once said that four wheels moved the body, but two wheels moved the soul. This rang extremely true for Rob. Robbie passed from this life unexpectedly on September 6, 2022. It is impossible to condense all of Robbie's life and loves into a few paragraphs, but one thing that stands out is Robbie's big heart. Although ornery, he loved his family and friends with all of his heart and soul. We as a family are unable to express how much we loved him right back; we feel profound emptiness and sorrow without him here on earth with us; however, we take solace and comfort in knowing that we will be reunited again one day. Robbie is survived by his parents Bob and Debbie Callison, sister Sarah Callison, sister Tracy Callison Tiger, niece Bailey Tiger, nephew Caleb Tiger (Mariah Clifton), nephew Kai Murphy, great nieces Novella Tiger and Sylvia Tiger. Aunt and uncle, Jean Callison Sanders and Larry Sanders, aunt Susan Callison, aunt and uncle Pam Stepp Jones and Dennis Jones, aunt and uncle Carolyn Stepp Feldman and Frank Feldman and uncle Phillip Stepp. Cousins Brandy Boyd Wheeler and Terry Wheeler, Joe Neves and Erica Neves, Ronnie Neves (Kayliegh Tomlinson), Lori Biffle Spencer and Ajay Spencer, Joseph and Easton Neves, Laikynn and Oaklynn Neves and Madelyn and Alaina Spencer. Robbie also leaves behind many close and special lifelong friends who were like family. Robbie was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert Owen Callison, Sr. and Velma Sewell Callison, Glenda Smith Cowan and Roy Cowan and Ralph Stepp and Dorothy Stepp, uncle Michael Callison, aunt Angela Callison and cousin Bradley Dillon. A celebration of Robbie's life will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Timothy Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Tim Edgmon, Joe Neves, Scott Smith, James Swartwood, Mark Tevebaugh and Terry Wheeler serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Platt, Caleb Tiger and Kai Murphy.
