Robert Leo Beene

Robert Leo Beene, age 82, of Oktaha, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025. Born on June 29, 1943, in Idabel, Oklahoma, Robert was the beloved son of Clement Leo Beene and Vivian Lorene (Goodson) Beene. He spent his early years in Idabel and later attended public schools. His high school years were spent at Midwest City High School. At the young age of 17, Robert answered the call to serve his nation, enlisting in the United States Army on July 30, 1960. He fulfilled his duty with honor and was honorably discharged on July 22, 1963. Robert’s service exemplified his dedication and respect for his country and its values. Robert built a successful career as an automotive mechanic, working for the Department of Public Safety, where his skill and commitment earned the respect of his colleagues. He retired in 1994, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity. Beyond his professional achievements, Robert was a true horseman at heart. His love for horses was evident in his lifelong dedication to trail riding and caring for them. He found joy in the open air, whether he was riding through Oklahoma’s scenic trails, casting a line while fishing, or tracking game on a hunting trip. Robert also had a deep appreciation for firearms and enjoyed activities involving guns, always demonstrating safety and respect for the sport. Robert’s gentle spirit, steadfast work ethic, and adventurous soul touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends, his service to his country, and the many hours spent enjoying the simple pleasures in life. He leaves behind a host of loved ones and friends who will cherish his memory and honor his legacy. Robert’s life was a testament to the enduring values of family, service, and passion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Vivian Beene; siblings, Billy Dale Beene and Milly Gale Beene; and grandson, Cameron Jacob Ryan Goforth. Robert is survived by his siblings, Carolyn Sue Johnson of Valliant, Carl Joe Beene of Porter, and Connie June Dill of Swink; children, Robin Lee Goforth of Oklahoma City, Robert Dale Beene of Oktaha, and Ricky Joe Beene of Norman; grandchildren, Desirae Leigh Goforth, Dusty William Beene, Tristen Cade Beene, Cody Maynard Duncan Beene, Chantz Volks Wade Beene, and Barbie Barbara Elizabeth Inez Beene, great-grandchildren, Chase Ray Cook, Clover Loy Beene, Elizabeth Claudine Beene, Rain Elizabeth Kidwell, and Maya Jo Harper Kidwell; along with numerous other family members and many friends. Robert’s life will be celebrated at 1:30PM, Friday, November 7, 2025 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Mr. Robert D. Beene officiating. Military honors will be presented. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Dale Beene, Ricky Beene, Greg Goforth, Dusty William Beene, Tony Joe Beene, and Everette Chad Hurley. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Joe Beene, Darell Johnston, Cody Maynard Duncan Beene, and Chantz Volks Wade Beene.
