Robert Louis Jackson Sr.

Robert Louis Jackson, Sr., you probably knew him as Robbie or Papa or maybe even Senior, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Robbie was born on November 28, 1953, in Silverton, Texas, to Tobby Robert Jackson and Thelma Faye Clement Jackson. Robbie lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, laughter, orneriness, and deep devotion to his family. Robbie graduated from Muskogee High School in 1972. He built a career as the owner of Robbie’s Body Shop for 30 years. Then, after years of volunteering as a reserve deputy, he elevated his dedication to service as a Muskogee County Deputy Sheriff, retiring in 2021 after 20 years of service. Robbie enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, Kansas City Chiefs football, NASCAR, and going on cruises. But above all else, he loved his grandchildren. Being “Papa” was his greatest joy and proudest title. Nothing meant more to him than cheering from the sidelines, telling stories, teasing with a grin, and simply being present for the people he loved most. He married the love of his life, Rebecca Lynn Morgan Jackson on October 22, 2009 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Together they shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rebecca Lynn “Nana” Jackson; his father, Tobby Jackson; his mother, Thelma “Dolly” Jackson; and his sister, Debbie Curtis. He is survived by what he affectionately called “a bunch of idiots.” Some of those “idiots” include: His son, Robert Louis Jackson, Jr., of Muskogee, Oklahoma; His daughter, Cheryl Nelson and husband Jared, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; His daughter, Megan Fritz and Matt, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; His son, Mitchell Wiedel and wife Nicole, of Muskogee, Oklahoma; His daughter, Rachel Drake and husband Brandon, of Warner, America; and His brother, Tobby Jackson and wife Becky, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind 14 grandsons, 4 granddaughters, 1 great-granddaughter, and one great-grandchild due in August, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends, and colleagues who will forever remember his humor, strength, and unwavering loyalty. Robbie will be remembered for his quick wit and sarcasm, his big heart, his strong handshake, and the way he loved his family without condition. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
