Roswitha "Rosie" T. Stairs

Roswitha “Rosie” T. Stairs, 81, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2022. She was born on May 14, 1941 in Sandhofen Germany to Jakob and Emma (Bittner) Schick where she attended and graduated from public school. Rosie married Paul Richard Stairs on June 4, 1983 in Copperas Cove, Texas. They shared more than 39 years of life, marriage and making memories together. Rosie worked at Darnell Army Medical Center for a time and at her daughter’s store, “Dill’s Gifts” but her greatest joy was being a homemaker. Known as “Oma” to almost everyone, she loved spending time with her family and loving on her grandkids. Rosie and Paul enjoyed evenings on the porch watching the sunsets and spur of the moment slow dances. She enjoyed crocheting hand towels that she gave to everyone she met. She attended First United Methodist Church and was a member of the Blue Star Mothers, Order of the Eastern Star, and a girl scout leader. She will always be remembered for her patriotism and her love for America. Rosie was dearly loved and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jakob and Emma Schick; sister, Beate Rorrer; nephew, Hans Dieter Born; grandson, Dustin J. Hawkins; niece, Shirley Shinabargar; and sister-in-law, Nancy Hawkins. Rosie is survived by her husband, Paul of the home; sons, Bob Hawkins and husband Mike Martin of Round Rock, TX, Tom Hawkins and wife Glenda of Wilburton, OK, Don Hawkins of Wilburton, OK, Richard Stairs and wife Jennifer of Elgin, OK; daughter Ramona Dill and husband Bobby of Oktaha, OK; grandchildren, Amanda Dill-Wofford of Oktaha, OK, Jason Hawkins of Owasso, OK, Waylon Dill and wife Jordan of Muskogee, OK, Sonja Tucker of Muskogee, OK, Brandon Dill of Oktaha, OK, River Stairs and wife Kaitlyn of Elgin, OK, Brooke Foshee and husband Norman of Canton, TX, Kai Stairs of Muskogee, OK, Bradley Wofford of Muskogee, OK, and Sabrina Moore of Warner, OK; 18 great-grandchildren, Landon, Lakota and Linkin Wofford, Kaden McConnell, Raylon, Sawyer and Sayler Dill, Trenton, Treyden and Savannah Tucker, Colt, Channing, and Kendra Dill, Emma, Grace and Liam Hawkins, Camryn and Cooper Stairs; brother, Dean Stairs; sister, Ronda Slauenwhite and husband Kenny; niece, Donna Schanuth and husband Terry; along with several nieces, nephews, a ton of honorary grandchildren, other family members and friends. Rosie’s life will be celebrated at 11AM, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Patrick D. McPherson officiating.
