Samantha Jo Bolding

Samantha “Sam” Bolding, 42, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, entered Heaven’s gates on August 12, 2026. Sam was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Mark and Brenda Bolding on January 24, 1984. She lived in Muskogee her entire life and attended Hilldale Public Schools, where she played basketball and softball. After high school, Sam attended Connors State College and Northeastern State University, where she earned an associate degree. Sam worked at Homeland and Sears during and after high school, but she found her true passion in banking. She spent over 22 years with Bank of Oklahoma and Armstrong Bank, building not only a career but many lasting friendships along the way. Sam had a heart for helping others and generously gave her time to her community. She volunteered at many events through her work, also volunteered with the City of Muskogee Emergency Management and the Donnie Ray Crawford Legacy Foundation. Sam officially had only one niece, Keyley, who was her whole world, and she embraced the role of “Aunt Sam” with her whole heart. But being Aunt Sam extended far beyond family. Many cousins’ and friends’ children lovingly called her “Aunt Sam,” and she loved them all dearly. To Sam, family was never limited to blood—it was anyone she chose to love, encourage, spoil, and claim as her own. Samantha was preceded in death by her father, Mark Bolding; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Doris Bolding; maternal grandparents, T.R. and Lavern Ellis; uncle, Sidney Ellis; and cousins, Cody and Sofia. Sam leaves behind a large and loving family, along with countless friends whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing her. Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Brenda Bolding; brother, Danny Bolding and wife Kelly; niece, Keyley Bolding; uncles, Mike Bolding, Robert Bolding and wife Julia, Steve Bolding and wife Brenda, Allen Ellis and wife Marsha, and Brian Ellis and wife Elise; aunt, Diane Ellis; honorary nephew, Kolton Park; as well as numerous cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Sam will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the friendships she treasured, and the special place she held in the lives of so many. Whether you knew her as Samantha, Sam, or Aunt Sam, you knew you were loved. Family will greet friends from 4-6 pm, on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home with open visitation from 9 am to 8 pm. A Celebration of Life for Samantha will be at 10AM, Friday, August 21, 2026 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Brian Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Luke Barnes, Riley Dotson, Joel Bolding, Shawn Bass, Kaden Bass, Matt Ellis, and Daniel Hannon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Bolding, Steven Bolding, Evan Ellis, River Stairs, Matt Richardson, JJ Miranda, Caleb Barnoskie, Mikel Marbel, and Jarrett Hoffman.
