Sharon Kay Ratterree

Sharon Kay Brown Ratterree, 75, was born on December 26, 1945 in Keota, Oklahoma to Hubert and Grace Mae (Whittson) Brown. She went home to the Lord on January 19, 2021. Sharon grew up in Keota and was a graduate of the class of 1964. On September 4, 1964 Sharon married Morris Frost “Frosty” Ratterree and moved to Warner, Oklahoma. They shared many happy years of marriage and three daughters. Sharon graduated from the LPN program at Muskogee Indian Capitol Vo-tech in August of 1977 and went to work at Muskogee General Hospital. She worked the Pediatric and Telemetry units until she retired from MRMC in 2005. She then became the Connors State College student nurse until 2012 when she fully retired. Before her nursing career Sharon enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved cooking and making clothes for her daughters. No one could make a better pie crust. She also enjoyed watching westerns and listening to gospel and country music. She learned to play the piano in her early adulthood. Sharon really enjoyed spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren and her grandpups. To know Sharon was to know that she had a strong relationship with God. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Frost “Frosty” Ratterree; parents, Hubert and Grace; brothers, Austin, Howard and Carson Brown; and sisters, Juanita Clyma and Evalene Buchanan. She is also preceded by her grandson-in-law, David Cody Lynch. She is survived by her daughters, Tara Kay and husband Rocky Martin of Warner, OK, Melissa Dawn and husband Shawn Raper, and Shanna Lea and husband Patrick Cale both of Muskogee, OK; granddaughters, Holly Lynch of Warner, OK, Raven and husband Joshua Burr, Sara and husband Nathan Perry, both of Muskogee, OK; grandsons, Caleb Raper and Evan Cale of Oklahoma City, OK, and Mason Cale of Norman, OK. She also leaves behind a brother, Gary Brown and wife Barbara of Warner, OK; sisters, Sue Fiselier of Houston, TX, and Ruth Ann and husband Jerrell Suttles of Siloam Springs, AR; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. A rosary will be from 6pm-8pm, Friday, January 22, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be graveside at 10am, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the Bennett Cemetery in Warner, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Crow officiating.
