Sharon (Syfrett) Thomas

Sharon Faye (Syfrett) Thomas, 68 of Tahlequah, entered the gates of Heaven Friday morning, March 4, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born November 18, 1947 in Muskogee, OK to Roy Adolph Morris and Mary Elizabeth (Scoggins) Morris-Armstrong. She grew up and attended Muskogee Public Schools including Central High School of Muskogee. Sharon furthered her education by attending Muskogee Beauty College. After high school, Sharon married the father of her children, George Syfrett in November of 1965. They were blessed with two daughters. Sharon’s professional life was always spent helping others; from owning her own beauty shop in her home to working at Muskogee General Hospital, from which she would later retire. Her favorite job, however, was working at Fort Gibson Public Schools in the cafeteria. She was known as the “Lunch Lady.” Her hobbies included, golfing, camping, fishing, knitting and crocheting. Sharon loved spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family remembers that her favorite holiday was Halloween. She loved dressing up in costumes and having fun with the children. She is preceded in death by her father, Roy Morris; her stepfather, Willis Armstrong; and the father of her children, George Syfrett. Sharon is survived by her daughters, Jennifer McClure and husband Donnie, Wendee McClure and husband Darryl all of Tahlequah, OK; grandchildren, Dillon Rainbolt, Jessica McClure, Wyatt McClure and Samantha McClure; great grandchildren, Addison Rainbolt, and Ryan Rainbolt; her mother, Mary Armstrong of Broken Arrow, OK; sisters, Sue Garner and husband Jerry of Muskogee, Deborah Coleman and husband John of Broken Arrow, OK and Barbara Conine of Broken Arrow, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and other members of the family including an extra special niece, Judy Shore of Newalla, OK. Sharon’s family will receive friends on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Good Shepherd Hospice. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David White officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Dillon Rainbolt, Wyatt McClure, Robert Garner, Phillip Garner, Chanse Moucka, Pete Shore, Brandon Garner, and Anthony Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Garner, Charles L. Scoggins, John Coleman and Donald McClure. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
