Shawn Velsor

Shawn Velsor, age 68, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away on October 12, 2025. Born on August 28, 1957, in Glen Cove, New York, Shawn was the beloved son of John W. Velsor and Frances (Lovett) Velsor. He grew up in East Hampton, New York, and graduated with the class of 1975 from East Hampton High School. After high school, Shawn served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, where he received an honorable discharge. He married the love of his life, Patricia Elaine Haven, on September 19, 1981, in Phoenix, Arizona. Their partnership was filled with devotion and faith. Together, Shawn and Tricia attended New Community Church and Boulevard Christian Church in Muskogee, where they found fellowship and spiritual community. Shawn’s love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for waterfowl hunting and spending time in nature. He cherished attending football games with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories with those he loved most. Throughout his career, Shawn was a skilled sign maker at Royal Sign and Graphic and also contributed his talents at B Sew Inn and Phoenix Heat Treating. His work ethic, creativity, and craftsmanship were admired by colleagues and customers alike. Shawn will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His warm presence, adventurous spirit, and dedication to family and faith have left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Frances Velsor. Shawn is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; children, Joshua Velsor and wife Jill of Muskogee, OK, Aaron Velsor and wife Andrea of Fort Gibson, OK, and Chirstianne Velsor of Muskogee, OK; siblings, Nan Kane of Jacksonville, FL, and David Velsor of St Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Jonathan Velsor , Tristan Velsor, Ian Velsor and Eric Velsor all of Muskogee, OK, Noah Velsor, Cadence Velsor, and Shawn Velsor all of Fort Gibson, OK; and many other family members and friends. The family will greet friends 4PM-7PM Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. They would also like to invite any who knew Shawn to join them for a Celebration of Life service Friday, 10/24/2025, at 11 am, at Boulevard Christian Church.
