Sheila Kay Rolland

Sheila Kay Rolland passed from her earthly home into her heavenly home on January 21, 2023 and is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior. Sheila was born in Dallas Texas on March 31, 1962 to Sonny Raney and Shirley (Whitener) Christian. She and her family later moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma where she grew up. Sheila attended school at Plainview High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Randy, at the age of 17. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1980 and later married the love of her life on October 15, 1982, at Lake Murray in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Together they enjoyed 40 wonderful years of marriage and made countless memories that will be cherished for a lifetime. They lived in Ardmore where they welcomed their daughter, Amber, until moving to Muskogee in 1983 where they later welcomed their son, Lance, in 1988. Sheila attended college at Northeastern State University and earned her teaching degree and was employed with Muskogee Public Schools where she taught for 27 years until her retirement in May 2017. She was a beloved teacher who had a passion for kids and teaching. She loved making a difference in the lives of all her students. Sheila was a wonderful wife, mother, nana, and friend. She was the happiest when she was spending time with her family. There was nothing she relished more than when she and Randy were able to spend time with their children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids at all their sporting events. She was their biggest fan. Sheila enjoyed the outdoors. Some of her favorite things were camping, traveling, and spending time at the beach. She also looked forward to spending time with her Lakegirls but there was nothing she loved and enjoyed more than spending time with her family. She had a knack for making those around her feel loved and welcomed. Sheila was truly loved and a blessing to all who knew her and she will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Sonny Raney; brother, Randy Raney; father-in-law, Kelly Rolland; and mother-in-law, Jo Rolland. Sheila is lovingly survived by her husband of 40 years, Randy Rolland; daughter, Amber Collins and husband Eric; son, Lance Rolland; two grandchildren, Dawk Jackson and Jocelyn Collins; mother and stepfather, Shirley and Nathan Christian; sister, Angie Blain along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her deeply. Sheila’s life will be celebrated at 11AM, Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Minister David Yarbrough officiating. Interment will follow at Oktaha Cemetery in Oktaha, Oklahoma.
