Sonya Lynn Horn

Sonya Lynn (Muskrat) Horn, 53, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in Muskogee, OK. She was born on May 6, 1968 to Bobby G Wright and Mizelle Mae Muskrat in Tahlequah, OK. She graduated from Porum High School in 1986. Sonya married Rodney Lee Horn on December 28, 2009 in Porum, OK. Sonya had many names to many special people. Growing up her family called her Yaw Yaw, her nieces called her Aunt Sawnie and her grandkids called her GMa. Sonya was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was baptized in a small pond in Possum Holler. She was the life of the party, always a jokester and was the first to make you laugh. Sonya was never seen without a smile and filled the room with positive energy. Sonya was always there if you needed her, a devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, Gma and friend to all those she loved. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, watching scary movies, drinking Pepsi, and cooking. She was proud of her Cherokee heritage and loved going to Pow Wows. She was preceded in death by her parents Bobby Wright and Mizelle Muskrat; nephew, Thomas Kyle Muskrat and grandparents. Sonya is survived by her husband Rodney Horn of the home; daughters, Katie Latimer of Muskogee, OK and Ashley Brooks of Muskogee, OK; Gbabies, Katelynn, Karsyn, Reghan, Beckham, Maverick, Ashlinn and Brooklinn; siblings, James Muskrat and wife Kristi of Johnson City, TN, Loretta Martens and husband Tom of Choctaw, OK, Rosetta Benton of Porum, OK; step-sister, Angie Brinlee of Porum, OK; step-brother, Raymond Barnes of Porum, OK; nieces and nephews, Dustin Muskrat, Cody Elliott, Deanna Muskrat, Audriana Hughes, Tamsen Martens, Jonathen Martens, Crystal Martin, Alicia Brashier, Haley Brashier; great-nieces and nephews, Zach, Gabe, Luke, Baylee, Theo, Bristol, Mercedez, Madilyn, Addison, McKenzie, Maze, Henry, Daniel, Braxton, Kaeden, Jayden and Waylon; great-great niece and nephew Kyler and Savannah and numerous family and friends. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday January 17, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, OK. Interment will follow at Cramp Cemetery in Porum, OK. Pallbearers will be Crystal Martin, Alicia Brashier, Haley Brashier, Tamsen Martens, Deanna Muskrat, Jonathen Martens, Dustin Muskrat and Cody Elliott.
